“If Manny retires after the Cotto fight I’ll be fine with that also. If negotiations with Mayweather fail and Manny wins against Cotto, he’ll be having seven world titles. Nobody has done that before, so there’s nothing else to prove. Even though I’d be losing my best fighter, I would love to see him retire on top of the world. A lot of people tried to get rid of me along the way but not Manny Pacquiao. He’s been very loyal to me and I to him. We’ve had a great relationship and we’re going to be friends for life, that’s for sure.”

think this miht be part of his 'manny doesn't need floyd, floyd needs us' routine to get a better position at the negotiation table.

Yep, and truth be told he does need Manny. Manny accomplished something nobody else did, the fans love him, he's exciting to watch, and has the world on his back.
I say the fight is a 50/50, but Mayweather needs to beat him if he really wants to go down as an ATG. Most of his wins are against a shell of once was a good fighter, a good fighter than he brought to a boring decision, or a once good fighter that completely fell off the map 1 or 2 fights down the road after Floyd (making them look like they were simply overrated).
Manny's fights have been exciting, and some (not all) weren't past it, and the people he beat HE KNOCKED OFF THE MAP!

This is a fine example when "Keeping it real goes wrong":rofl

If I'm not mistaken, didnt Roach say Floyd will be the easiest fight out there for Manny, now he's saying that Manny doesnt need him? I know I'm not the smartest dude on the planet but Roach is reaching for straws if he honeslty thinks this bull****...Honestly, they both need each other IMO...Roach can kill of of this utter bull**** talk...The true fans know whats up.

Why does Mayweather need Pacquiao? Mayweather is 10 times more popular, he beats Marquez and people are already telling Pacquiao to step aside in the P4P rankings.

Does Roach really believe Pacquiao will be remembered for beating Floyds leftovers?

its just a simple ploy because he knows the negotiations for a mayweather fight would be so complex.

He is pretty honest, If Pacman does win and Mayweathers demands are unrealistic or makes things difficult , Pac can retire at a great point...but let's be honest, the fight the world wants to see, and the biggest money fight out there is between Mayweather and Pacman, it's probably going to happen. Mayweather may want more money, they should just make it a 50/50 purse at a catchweight (that must be made) of 143-44 ... Pretty fair conditions I think.

Another thing to look at, given how much money Arum steals from Pac after every bout, and the fact that Pac is a very charitable guy from what I hear.

Will Pac have enough cash to retire on? The 15-20 mil he stands to make with a fight with Floyd would be too much to pass up.

Ive been saying on this forum, PACMAN is done because he is running for a congressional seat, that being said if we wins....his boxing career is over.....if he lost, you "might" see him late next year again.

So for the people who think manny needs floyd or floyd needs manny? both of those sides were losers....both of these guys dont need each other, they got separate plans for their lives.

Of cource Pac would fight floyd if he wins. I dont think they are gonna settle for any crap like 64-35 that mayweather mite pull. They are gonna want 50-50 at least

how is 50/50 at a catch weight really fair?? Yes manny would be the only 7 weight class champion but floyd is also only person to win 6 world titles and be undefeated
