Check out Roach's comments on sweetscience.com, he dont want this fight for Pac. Says Algieri is tough and Ruslan may have taken him lightly (but what he really means is that he himself took him lightly). For everybody saying this is a **** fight and it won't sell you will be proven wrong. Not only is it a better fight than people realize but it will sell.....guaranteed. Just watch. They will market the hell out of Algieri. This kid will be on every ESPN show and will be well received. This is a bad match up for Pacman. Even Freddy Roach thinks so. This is an interesting fight and my prediction is that it will be an exciting fight. Ok Algieri has only had one fight on HBO but that has nothing to do with what kind of match up it is. Those in the know, know that this could be a HUGE upset. His last fight with Ruslan had over 1 million viewers, this one will too once they market him all over and in every major NY Newspaper for months. Hell its already all over the NY papers and it hasnt even been signed yet.

my bad...i wrote that quick...i meant over 1 million views. By november with all the hype dont be surprised if this fight approaches that in ppv numbers...people saying 250,000 are out of their minds. Marketing is everything

This fight has pretty much no chance of doing 1M buys

on the surface because of Algieri being a relative unknown that makes sense. But marketing in the media capitol of the world can do wonders. This fight will sell WAY more than people think.

This fight will do **** PPV numbers in the US. At least Rios has a fan base. NOBODY outside of the hardcore boxing fans knows or gives a **** about who Algieri is.

    Wake up, noob...

And based on skill and accomplishment, Provodnikov was/is just an ESPN2 level fighter himself.

While I scored the fight for Algieri and obviously stand by that, many and close to half of posters and media felt Prov won so it by no means was some infinitely decisive fight to score.

As for "beating the champion and taking his belt," he beat a titlist and took his strap... at junior welterweight.

Brandon Rios' fame >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Chris Algieri's fame

Pacquiao vs. Rios = approx. 400 K PPV buys

Pacqiuao is a worldwide celebrity who transcends the sport of boxing and there hasnt been a boxer with Algieri's marketability since Oscar. Looks like a model not a fighter. Masters degree & future doctor, speaks like a professor, is an unbeaten World Champion, was an unbeaten 2x World Champion kickboxer and the list goes on.......the media will eat him vs Pac "young lion vs old lion" hype up bigtime. Writing is on the wall. This fight will sell like crazy. Just watch

We New Yorkers know how skilled Algieri is and believe me-he will give any of the elite 140-147 pounders trouble. The Dude is gifted.
