I think Khan is too content to stay there with his guard up; he can't fight inside. Pacquiao has a similar problem, but at least he'll pivot out most of the time and readjust to his preferred range, or fight off the ropes. He didn't do it against Marquez for being afraid to over-commit but that was the exception. Khan just shells up. You're not gonna win that way. Roach teaches good footwork and distance and knows how to maximize a fighter's strenghts while staying away from their weaknesses and taking away an opponent's weapons. I'm not sure if he can't teach in-fighting, but Khan has to realize he needs to learn it.
hope so cause Khan has some potential. Also what you said about Roach doing great job with him is true. But sometimes a "slap to the face" between rounds would be good. Adrenaline makes fighters loose their heads. Coach is there to tell them what to do and prevent form making mistakes
