Never been a fan of reality TV. Just reality, and decent human beings. Roach isn't acting like one there. The way to go about it if he has genuine concern for Davison is call him and talk through it, pass on his wisdom like that. Not throw him under the bus on TV, undermining him, what's that about?

I know.. Pinching a fighter, that's what. Clear as day

A bit of a crappy thing to do from Roach. Fury was a lost cause when Davison got hold of him. Not only did Davison earn his respect but he kept him disciplined, focused and motivated. He also guided Fury to a win over the self proclaimed ‘baddest man on the planet’.

Davison ain’t getting the credit he deserves because of the result. I’d be shocked if Fury doesn’t back him 100% here.

It's may not be the smartest thing to speak publicly on it, but Roach is known to speak his mind and also likes to talk a lot of ish. But this time I won't criticize him because I see his point. Fury stunned Wilder a couple of times with hard 1-2's but never followed up on it. The thing with Wilder is, with all his technical shortcomings, he should get more recognition for being a warrior. What I mean by that is: While I was studying Wilder's fights before his fights, I've seen Wilder always trying to hurt back the opponents immediately after getting hit so he had to be careful. I think Ben did a great job and was giving Fury great advices during the whole fight. I disagree with Roach on feinting less, Fury was doing a wonderful job feinting Wilder because the feints are one of his cryptonites, also it's natural for Fury to feint, he always does it. Rewatch the fight, he hasn't threw a single jab without feinting it first and that's grea because it is what sets his opponents off. Now, do I agree with Roach that he could be more offensive in spots and follow up with more punches after hitting Wilder? Absolutely!

Roach is a lone wolf, a maverick and a straight shooter who shoots from the hip. He's also 16 x Trainer of the Year and knows his **** and he's right Fury could've stopped Donkey. I can't remember which round it was now but there was one instance where he did let some shots freely and Donkey looked clueless and had no defence to them at all. That said, Roach shouldn't have said this in public.

That's his thing I guess, he regularly says stuff on camera imo that needs saying behind closed doors. Its not being honest, it looks to me like he has little tantrums !

To be honest it didn't inspire confidence when this guy with little experience was giving Fury instructions, how could he have the experience to really know what he was talking about? he did his best but Fury pretty much went by his own instinct. Either way its a strange move by Roach, surely slagging off a close friend of Fury wont go down well. I guess boxing is dog eat dog and trainers change all the time but maybe Roach underestimates the loyalty element here. he must be out of the loop after this?

Everyone's an expert after the event. I think Roach has achieved enough to know better than this. Say what you like about Davison (and I know very little about him) but his commitment to getting Fury in fighting shape is unquestionable, and win/lose/draw he clearly did a very good job. When this was announced the received wisdom was that without Peter Fury in the corner Tyson would have little to no chance. Well, that was wrong. If Tyson gets credit a good portion of that should go to Ben Davison. In hindsight virtually every fight has opportunities that were not taken and advice that might have been a little different.

Hard to say really. Roach is obviously way more experienced but he's also salty and a dick. Davidson is young and never trained anyone so I could see Roach comments being true.

Fury could knockout Wilder, but he would have to open up more and that me chance of getting knocked out. The best bet is to box and move and win a decision.

Roach may well be right about Tyson's boxing but he's misjudged his sense of loyalty by going public like this. He shouldn't expect a call any time soon...

Agree with others that there's elements in truth in his criticism, but to go public is distasteful, especially regarding such a young and upcoming trainer that is so close to his fighter. It should have been said behind closed doors and learned from; Roach was paid to be there for his experience. The job should have included a post-fight analysis, written and discussed from him to offer Tyson and Ben tactical insight. Going to the press about it just reeks of him wanting to be in Wilder's corner for more $£$ next time out.

Roach always has knockouts on his mind. He claims Manny will knock out his opponent every single fight even though it's obvious Manny doesn't have it in him anymore. If his track record is anything to go by then when Roach claims knockout, it probably isn't happening.
