eventually both sides would have to agree to a 50-50 split if they want this fight to happen.

And it's pretty likely Cotto will leave soon so that would be another reason, so he can get the biggest money out of him before he's gone.

It cannot be clearer, Pac and Mayweather this fall will be the absolute peak of their drawing power. Arum will have a piece of that! He will not pass it up. There are too many what ifs afterward. What if Pac fights Cotto and Mayweather fights Mosley in the fall. What if Mosley wins and Cotto wins. You've got Cotto and Mosley left and that is a regular PPV drawing 400k-500k. Nothing. Sure May and Pac could still fight, but it'd be half the draw it could have been.

I agree it has a good chance to happen next but there will be so much **** with these negotiations. Since Floyd is having GBP co-promote him with his own company maybe he should let someone at GBP deal with Arum!

this would be the best case. GBP and TR would work this out nicely. on the other hand, arum-floyd would just make this fight seem too impossible to happen.

that's a given, man. Mayweather Promotions is a farce just like Hayemaker Promotions, etc...For what it's worth, Mayweather is a Golden Boy fighter now. He may have signed a deal to never be listed as a stable fighter, but that's what he is. The MP will get him a few more $$, but in the end, the mega fights against Top Rank opponents will be negotiated by GBP with his final approval.

True, and GBP is the best company to promote fights this big. I think Floyd may have success in the future as a promoter though. He sure has been promoting himself pretty good. Hell, I wouldn't be shocked if he became a partner in GBP at some point.

absolutely, as a promoter for GBP he'd be great. Starting your own company and making it successful requires a lot of $$$ and work, though. That's why all these outfits are bull****. Left Hook Promotions? :-(

One of us isn't reading the others posts. I thought I'd go back and make a time line after my run, but now I don't care enough to do it. Oh well, some other time.

Void is extremely spoiled. He wants his referee to protect him, his judges, his commentators, etc.

How many times have we seen the fight that has to happen not happen??? Leonard vs Pryor, Lewis vs Bowe, Jones vs DM, Norris vs Tito, Tsyzu vs Mosley. The list is endless.

Your missing the point, Arum walked away from Floyd vs Oscar and that was at the time a much bigger fighter then Pac vs Floyd. You have to understand Pac losing to floyd would hit Arum harder then it would hit Pac, Pac losing to Cotto would hurt as bad. If Cotto beats Pac and Shane beats Floyd then Cotto Shane is the big fight. right??? What happens if Floyd beats pac and loses to Shane?? there is always going to be what ifs, there aways has been and always will be. Fighters cant fight everyone.

As far as I go I would much rather see Floyd getting ready to fight Shane now instead of JMM and the winner of Cotto clottey next. Truth is as a fan I know what is going to happen after Floyd beats JMM and Pac...NOTHING people will only ***** about weight and those guys being too small.:hey

What the **** else would it be? Out of curiosity?

Its also fairly well validated. Pac has beaten legitimate ATGs close to their prime. He has moved up in weight very rapidly, putting himself at a big disadvantage, and beaten two of Floyd's biggest wins in much more convincing fashion.

Hes clearly a better fighter in a p4p sense at this point, and hopefully we will see who is the better Welterweight in the next 12 months.
