nope. it's just that floyd sr. injected jr.'s balls with xylocaine and as of posting time he can't feel any balls. :rofl
Oh come on, you should know better, you knew Floyd had a tune up fight planned 3 months before the Hatton/Pac fight took place. *******s being *******s.
Even with all that's gone down I would be very surprised if there wasn't an agreement to fight between them sometime this year, if nobody loses that is. Which they might.
Imposing an overweight stipulation isnt a new rule?...The amount asked for is beyond ridiculous and unprecedented, but Mayweather agreed. What Pac has done is not only never been seen, but almost defies all logic and reasoning. Let's face facts here...this is a guy that went life and death with Marquez only to stop and embarass Hatton, DLH and Cotto thereafter. IMO the validity of that is IN FACT reasonable to question with the amount of steroid use going on WITHIN THE SPORTS WORLD IN GENERAL...not just the boxing world. The fact the no boxing commission asks for it is not because it's not needed, but because it can't be afforded financially. Regardless of how the rumor got started or Mayweather's TRUE reason for making such demands, any serious athelete would take the test...earn the money...and beat his opponent's ass. Pacquiao has declined and tarnished his own name...not Mayweather. Seriously...when have we ever seen a guy climb 7 divisions and still KO guys easy and early? **** even DLH and Mayweather themselves had to OUTSKILL their opponents...neither were KO'ing guys out of the park. RJJ was a guy KO'ing guys going through divisions and still maintaing speed and strength and look what the truth pointed to...steroids. Mosley was another case. Vargas. Mayorga (a smoker and alcoholic). Roach too isn't the cleanest of trainers to question. Let's not forget the Toney incident. To question his greatness isn't an insult, but rather a stepping stone to providing the public with the utmost respect and confidence that Manny is clean, honest and damn near perfect in combat. Let's not pretend that Mayweather is the only one with this steroid belief. It's been out there. Let us also not forget the numerous concessions on Floyd's part. I'm nowhere near a Mayweather supporter, but I must say that I can agree and honestly see where he's coming from. I still hope Manny beats his punk ass...but now we'll have to just wait and see if the fight gets made period.
I couldn't agree more. It didn't seem the right time for a mega bout, maybe the summer or end of the year. Both camps have probably already agreed terms, including the drug testing. Ive never seen a bout that has been so public with it's negotiations, I think this controversy has been created to build the hype of the bout. What they have done is take this potential bout from possibly being the highest grossing bout in history, to making this the highest grossing bout in history - when it happens. I still see only one winner though, Pacquiao is made for Mayweather - Mayweather by UD or late stoppage. (although you never know what is going to happen in boxing)
First, lets stop calling Lidocaine a "Pain Killer". Tylenol, Demerol, MSO4 are pain killers. All of them are different kind of medications. Lidocaine is a LOCAL ANESTHETHIC. It does not enhance your perfofmance, but I can't understand how an athlete can pass pre-fights medical examinations if he needs anesthetics to fight. If Floyd can't fight without lidocaine he needs to go back to retirement. I know Ellerbe will be there to wipe his ass whenever Floyd can't move his hands anymore, but this should not be allowed, period.
Honestly, I think both Floyd and Manny have pulled major b*tch moves in this situation. Floyd has amazing talent, but not the heart to take tough fights. He is a classic cherry picker. Even when he was at 130 lbs., instead of calling out Joel Casamayor, he was busy calling out Naseem Hamed. Little 5'4''1/2 Hamed, the World Featherweight Champion. Once he is in the ring though, he has heart. Floyd Mayweather will fight through broken hands or whatever comes his way. If you are able to land a good shot on him, he will answer back. It's just extremely difficult to get him in the ring with you, if you are considered any kind of threat. Now, I know the topic here is about Floyd's use of Xylocaine. I read a few of you guys posts about which side really walked away from this Super Fight, so I am really responding to that topic. As far a the Xylocaine use, if Freddie Roach and Manny Pacquiao don't care, then why should any of us. Also, if it is legal then what is the fuss about? As we all know, Floyd Mayweather made special demands for this fight. Demands that he has never made in any previous fight. His dad doesn't want him to fight Pacquiao, unless he has since changed his mind. This does seem like a bit of caution or possibly fear of Manny's recent accomplishments. I am of the opinion that Floyd's demand, for whatever reason, is a great idea for all of boxing. Fighters deserve to know if they are fighting someone on performance enhancing drugs. This is a dangerous sport. Manny Pacquiao on the other hand is willing to walk away form this fight and 30-40 million dollars because he wouldn't agree to the compromised 14-day cut off. That makes absolutely NO sense to me. If you are clean then be clean. Take the d*mn test! I'm not implying that Pacman is on anything illegal, I just don't understand his logic or lack thereof. I want to believe that he is clean, but he isn't helping any of us by ducking the test and fighting Joshua Clottey.
"added the honest and soft-spoken trainer." "Its interesting to see the vast differences that both camps have in regards to the confidence they exude in their fighters. On one hand, you have Mayweathers side, who say theyre confident of victory, but at the same time, are paranoid to step in the ring due to their own fear of Pacquiaos recent success. On the other hand, you have Pacquiaos side, whos so confident of victory that they wouldnt even have a problem with Mayweather using Xylocaine to numb the pain in his brittle hands." :rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl That article is a biased pile of dog ****. They forgot to add the part about Pac's camp not being too confident of passing a little blood test
Pac asked for 8oz gloves, a modification of Nevada's rules and PBF agreed to them. Now obviously the move favors Pac the power puncher and not PBF the one with bad hands. But PBF made that concession. Pac was afraid to make his, he has something to hide. :deal
