I don't put a whole lot of faith behind what Roach says, but IF Floyd pushes for 10 oz gloves people should correctly give him **** for it for this very reason.

By default this is the case, but if both fighters agree they can fight with 8 oz gloves. Cotto vs Margo, Cotto vs Pac, and Pac vs DLH were all fought with 8 oz gloves. I don't know of a single WW fight fought with 10 oz gloves.

This crap is so stupid. How the hell is FMJ going to ask for 10oz gloves and that ish be believable when FMJ was complaining he had to wear them for DLH? I guess wanting to come in at 154 was believable too right?

The ish coming out of the Pac camp would be funny if these *******s weren't repeating it like it was gospel! :patsch

The Nevada State Athletic Commission says all fights at WW in Nevada HAVE to use 10 oz gloves unless both fighters agree to something else. The rule went into effect shortly before the Cotto v Margo fight. This is from the NSAC website. Absurd huh. You should have some idea of what your talking about before you start yelling.

    http://boxing.nv.gov/New_FAQ.htm

Question: What are the gloves sizes based on the boxer/kickboxer's weight?

Answer: Athletes (boxers/kickboxers) weighing-in up to and including 135 pounds must wear 8 oz. gloves in competition, while athletes weighing-in over 135 pounds (junior welterweight class and above) must wear 10 oz. gloves in competition. However, athletes weighing in over 135 but not more than 147 pounds may wear 8 ounce gloves in competition if both athletes agree to do so in writing.

Can't argue with the facts. You are right.

Still FMJ complained about "10oz pillows" in the DLH fight. Seems strange he WANTS them now. Roach has toasted all of his credibility so I would not trust him. However in this case, there is the possibility of it being true. Roach also said FMJ wants the fight at 154...

You really don't know your boxing. For someone with brittle hands, a 10 ounce gloves provides better protection because of thicker padding. For a puncher, an 8 ounce gloves gives more power.

Mayweather is not a slugger so why would he want an 8 ounce gloves?

Floyd doesn't have to ask for 10oz gloves. Thats the rule for 147 and up.
