Roach open to Cotto/Golovkin fight

It's a ****ing joke, if Cotto won't defend his lineal title against the number 1 in the division the. He needs to vacate and bugger off back down to 154.

If the fight happens Golovkin should not be made to weigh in less than 158, I think that would be an acceptable weight.

Plus what must realise aswell is GGG said he'd go to 154 for Mayweather fair enough but Cotto is the 160 champion so this fight shouldn't be made at 154.

a "unification" fight between 2 people at 160 and the proposed weight is 154. you cant make that sh.it up. primadonnas in this boxing era. its bad enough they have 50 titles and 17 weight divisions but now have to fight under the class they hold belts in just to make a fight? id rather not see it if it goes down like that.....that is embarrassing the sport

 

Hagler fought at 160, the title is middleweight, not Jr. Middleweight..................however, Golovkin offered to fight Void at 154..............Golovkin would knock Cotto out, doubt if Roach will allow Cotto to come near Golovkin..................

People seem to misunderstand Roach here, he wants the fight closer to 154, not at 154. By that he clearly means that a Catchweight of 155 or 156 will be requested.

 

Is this
a) to make sure the lineal MW title isn't on the line and Cotto wants to keep it to lure Floyd into another lucrative fight?
b) to drain Golovkin as much as possible to stand any kind of chance?
c) an attempt to get Golovkin of his back, claiming they offered him a fight and didn't take it?
d) any combination or all of the above

 

No, the MW limit is 160. Anything above 154 and below 160 is a catchweight.

I'm sure he did so therefore Roach wants GGG to come down to Cotto. I think it's ridiculous Scar especially Freddie 'the catch weight king' Roach.

I'm not against catch weights which benefit both fighters but if the joke coach and Cotto request Golovkin to come to 155/156 they should hang their heads in shame.

Trying to get all the advantages on your side, including draining your opponent, it doesn't make you a true champion of a certain division !

Anyway, I think GGG could make 157-158 lbs comfortably without diminishing his power and his stamina.

 

Lineal MW Championship MUST be at 160. Gimme a break Roach.

 

Though the GGG team said they would agree to any terms I still believe it should be at 160 lbs

I didn't like it when Roach drained Cotto vs PAC.

But if they agree to those terms they should not complain just as Garcia /Maidana look stupid running around complaining about the gloves when they agreed to terms at the signing!!!
