He was thinking about trying to drain Floyd lmao. " I'll like to get him down in weight a little bit, make him work to get down in weight" " Floyd's a talented guy if we can take something away from him we will " Just goes to show how Team Pacquiao use Catchweights to gain an advantage

Roach is a badass for wanting to fight Floyd at any weight with his condition and age... He clearly belongs in the HOF :yep

Lets be honest this was never going to happen, if it's going to happen it will be 147, but I don't expect that.

It reminds me of how Floyd wanted Oscar in a rematch at a 150-pound catch-weight, then retired instead, after Oscar worked his way down to 150 and had a tune-up there. :yep Floyd was all "Psych! I ain't dealin' with that jab again!"

Not surprising. This interview was conducted back December 2008 - before Manny even had his fights with Hatton and Cotto. Do I need to dig up all of the old threads where the general consensus at the time was that Manny would get murdered by most welterweights?

Sadly, a lot of Pacquiao fans are ******ed. I had a discussion with one nutcase(Popkins) who was openly arguing that Cotto moving down was absolutely nothing because he could drop 2 KFC + rice pounds in one day too. These ******s need to learn that athletic pounds are nothing like walking around out of shape pounds.

It's very simple, if catchweights do nothing why are they requested?

I don't remember Mayweather requesting that ever in his career. Are you imagining things or mixed up between Roach and Mayweather?

Nah, back when that rematch was being lined up, rumours were that part of the idea was for it to be at 150. That's one of the reasons why Oscar had the Forbes fight there as a tune-up.

Not true. Floyd wanted the rematch at 147, figuring that since he just moved up in weight, sacrificed everything and beat DLH, that Oscar should have to come down to his weight class. DLH fought forbes at 150 because he was working on moving down.

Oh, I see. Have you got a link for that?

I just remember Schaefer talking about the idea of it being at 150.
