Floyd Sr has a big mouth and a famous and brilliant son. These are the reasons why he is rated.

He trained Ricky Hatton for a fight against a guy tailor-made for him in Paulie 'The Blind Statue' Malignaggi, and because he made Ricky use the jab and Paulie was easier to hit than a fat hooker's ass then Floyd Sr suddenly became THE MAGIC WAND that immediately transformed fighters and would be the difference v Pacquiao.

We saw v Pac that Big Floyd had made no real difference to Hatton's fighting style. He was ineffectual, and Roach was right all along... yet again.

Kudos to the true sage, Freddie Roach :happy

Lol - Floyd Senior is a joke and loses all credibility as being the self proclaimed best boxing trainer of all time!

After two perfect predictions, I think people will have to start giving Freddie props.

I never thought Sr. was the best, but he not overrated by far. Hatton simply can't break old habits.

I disagree, Hatton didnt listen to Floyd, he didnt move his head, feint or use the jab properly. Running in with his hands at his chest and loading up on punches, telegraphing almost everything.

I thought quite highly of Floyd Snr at one stage. Now I just think he is a COMPLETE ****.

It's Mayweather Sr's job to make him break old habits though. If he can't improve Hatton and make a difference, then he has failed as a coach. And Hatton still had no defence. Mayweather Sr failed. He was spectacularly overrated before this fight, because he has a big mouth and a great son.

He s not a great trainer.

Wait till Hatton recovers from that KO. You'll soon hear what a terrible camp they had. Floyd senior was constantly late, in house fighting , and who knows what else.

That makes you a bad trainer. he may know the sport but he doesn't know how to train.

this is the truth. Ricky was simply either too pig-headed or not good enough to carry out what Mayweather told him to do. This doesn't mean he is a bad trainer.

BS, don't care how great a trainer is, the fighter has to do the job inside the ring. Jermaine Taylor didn't follow directions from Emanuel Steward, so does that make him garbabe.....no. The game plan was giving and he didn't follow it.

Hatton didnt do anything that Snr taught him. He didnt even move his ****ing head. Even after the first rd Snr told hatton to keep his hands up and feint. what does hatton do? the same **** that got him knocked down. Hatton didnt listen. AT ALL.

    I agree with this.

One of the things that Roach said a long time ago when the fight was made was that it didn't matter who was training Hatton or what he was learning, once someone - like the Pacman - punches him in his face, he'll just revert back to type.

Roach was absolutely right. Hatton is too limited and too old to learn new tricks. Don't blame Mayweather Snr. Shiat, if Hatton had simply put his gloves up to protect himself I would have been impressed. He didn't even do that.
