Did Roger Mayweather outsmart Roach when Floyd beat Oscar? At the end of the day, It's up to the fighter to execute. I don't doubt that Sr. had a quality game plan, but once that bell rang, the physical gifts were to one sided for a gameplan to make a difference.

It'll also make Fatton an excuse maker....again.

But I don't doubt for a minute that we'll start hearing those things put forward

Guys with Mayweather avatars don't though. :think

Imagine what they'd be saying about Roach if Manny had been dropped three times and sparked in the 2nd round. Laughable.

I understand that. I don't think you can really hold Sr. accountable for Hatton's defeat. He was giving him quality advice in the corner, to move his head and use his feints, but Ricky didn't listen.

Just rewatched it, and hell yeah Floyd Sr. should get a lot of flack, WTF did he teach/do for his man. That was horrible, he didn't use his jab to set anything up and no head movement.

The difference is Roach worked with pac for 8 years and pac is simply better than Hatton period.

NO man. its your job to make a connection with a fighter, if your fighter dont respect you enough as a trainer why follow, im not saying its seniors fault kinda a 50/50 for me.If he makes excuses tho that makes him a clown and way unproffesional.

I think sr. is still a good trainer but this put his comment about Dundee and Nacho is to perspective after the de la hoya -Pac fight. Eat crow!

Sr. hasn't gotten to the level as trainer he has gotten to because he ****ing sucks. The man is a fantastic trainer and many fighters will attest to that. He was telling Hatton after the first round to Move your ****ing head and use the feints to off-set Manny's movement. Hstton did none of it. The information was there and Ricky ignored it.

Word.......You can lead a horse to water(but you can make him drink)

Ricky seems incapable of making the proper adjustments on the world level. No trainer alive would have helped tonight

:goodPeople dont understand this, he was told what to do but didnt. Hatton himself was talking about using head movement but didnt. Yet floyd is to blame for all of this:roll:. Nonsense.

The same could be said for Freddy Roach and Oscar De la Hoya. Freddie had a game plan based around a consistent jab and Oscar ignored it the entire 2nd half of the fight. Did he not respect him? At the end of the day as a trainer you can sharpen the tools but if the fighter leaves them in the ****ing shed, than well, your ****ed.
