Roach is right. Pacquiao should take this fight seriously. He`s facing a guy who -at 145- is STILL in his inside his comfort zone in terms of weight. That`s just 1 pound below his last weight-in. Pac has to go up 7 pounds. How some people say that Cotto is the one at disadvantage is beyond ridiculous. Also, Cotto is a fighter who has PROVED that he can handle speed. And not from average fighters, but from HOF`er Shane Mosley, and a very good (and powerful) Zab Judah, who is a southpaw, like Pac. Both Shane and Zab are bigger, stronger and harder punchers than Pac at welter. And Zab has faster hands than Pac. Pac has a good chance to win, but he needs to be 100%, develop the right strategy and sticking with it.
Yep - he started weeks ago. When his nutritionist arrived, he was amazed by how good of shape Cotto was already in.
Pacquiao is a smart man and he'll listen Roach. I'm very confident he will be very focused and 100% prepared to face Cotto.
It's only august lol, the fight is not until novembr 14. There's 11 weeks before the fight. Most fighters only need 8 weeks to get into shape and get ready for the fight.
^^ Very true, the only reason Cotto is training so early is to not struggle with the weight. Besides, He's not fully trainning yet, I think he's trainning like 3 or 4 times a week for now.
Theres no way pacman will take his eye off the ball for this fight. Not with a potential fight with mayweather at stake.
Just read an article on Phil boxing that Pac wants to Train in the Phillipines, but Roach wants to go to Mexico to get away from all the hype. The last time he trained at home was for the 2nd Barrera fight, and he looked like crap. So yeah him and his crew better wake up and listen to his trainer.
Thats the sense I get also. But on the flipside, I think Cotto is putting it out there that he is expecting to go to war. But, I wont be surprised when he comes out the corner trying to outbox Pacman.
