so, u could throw that garbage out that ortiz is a hand picked opponent for floyd. he said victor is a big strong kid who has a chance against floyd since floyd has been out for a while. Roach goes on to praise ortiz as a good fighter who gave pac man the best sparring of his life.:good 6:49 mark

I think Ortiz is a good opponent. I've been saying for a long time that it would be nice to see Pac or Floyd fight someone who wasn't 2 fights away from retirement.

Ortiz is the most relevant opponent either guy has fought in quite sometime.

Ortiz is a great opponent with a very good chance of winning with so many advantages over pretty girls opponents he has been facing for the past 4 years. IMO the *****s are setting themselves up for failure trashing Ortiz, because when Mayweather loses or goes into a war, that same **** fighter, no heart, no skills Ortiz... well that same shitty fighter is what did that to your hero... and when something like that does happen they are gonna feel so stupid for saying all the things they said and the disrespecting of Ortiz...

they are making Ortiz out to be the easiest fight ever.. and if its not? well you are gonna be humiliated on the forums and are gonna have to defend how a **** fighter, no heart, no skills kid put your herto trough hell.

Check the Campbell & Peterson fight...Ortiz struggled against an old "Galaxy Warrior"...pay close attention to each fight, if Ortiz can't bully and back his opponent up he is ordinary, Vic doesn't appear that he can fight going backwards, this is why Floyd said he would go toe to toe and walk him down...

There's no way Vic will upset Floyd he has about a 15% chance of winning imo...he is a come foward brawler, a plan A type fighter...when he gets outboxed he wilts, (see Peterson fight)...when he gets out brawled he folds...(see Maidana fight)...

Everyone will see Vics fight with Berto gave the illusion that Vic is a beast...well we saw last weekend Berto has no defense and likes to brawl and gets hit aot, that played into Ortiz's hands...

I see Vic similar but not as good as Felix Trinidad, he's a beast match against the right fighters but with gifted or elite "boxers" he's out of his element, Ortiz's will get thoroughly spanked there will be no upsets, I guarantee it...

Ortiz is a decent opponent, only cause WW is fairly depleted these days...

May should be fighting Pac or Martinez, that's it...

And to say that Ortiz has a good chance at winning is just fooking stupid, he's a 23 year old novice who has losses to Maidana and Peterson (I had him lossing). Yes he's young, strong, hungry, ect...but he's also inexperienced, can be mentally weak, is technically flawed, slower, lacks defence, ect...

On paper, Ortiz is NOWHERE NEAR Mayweather and its an insult to Mayweather to say he is...

    Mayweather by embarressing UD...

He still lacks the skills and experience to fight elite fighters though. That's a fact.

I agree. I'm a big Floyd fan and everyone likes watching Pac fight but the most amazing thing those two guys have done with their careers is to convince the fans that guys pushing 40 who haven't seen their prime in a good 5 years are better opponents than young, strong up and comers.

Ortiz is intriguing for the fact that he may be more comfortable and feel stronger at WW then he did at Jr WW.

You guys keep looking at his Jr WW fights but at Jr WW Ortiz doesn't beat Berto either. At WW Ortiz is a better fighter.

What other fights are we to assess, he's only had one fight at welter and did you actually watch that fight with Berto, if so you would have surley seen how flawed Ortiz is...sure he's strong and can punch but other than that his tool box is empty...

With Berto waving Ortiz in every two minutes allowing Vic to dictate and get off first there's no wonder why Berto loss, also Andre has NO defense, NO jab, NO footwork (poor balance) and when it comes to ring IQ Berto is just ******ed...he's just like Vic strong & hard puncher, but Andre can't fight on the inside, he just holds and eats punches...

If you are giving Vic a chance based on that fight you will be highly disappointed, why because unlike Berto... Floyd has great defense, a great jab (especially to the body), great footwork and when it comes to ring IQ Money is a ****ing genius, Floyd is deceptively strong so don't look for Ortiz to bowl thru him...

The best moments for Ortiz will be the few times Floyd's back touches the ropes, other than that...a white-wash...

    :huh

Dude, what does this prove??? Why would Roach and Pac go out of there way to disparage Ortiz?

It still doesn't negate someone's opinion that the Pretty One handpicked Ortiz. There are only two advantages I'd give Oritz in this fight: power and determination. Everything else I'd give to Mayweather. His speed, defense and experience is what's going to it win for Jr. Ortiz isn't a serious threat at this time. No disrespect to the man, because I actually like him. :hat

Mayweather will most likely beat up Ortiz, but Mayweather will most likely beat up most of the fighters at WW.

All im saying is that Ortiz is probably a better WW then Jr WW as I think he was cutting to much weight. He was like 160 on fight night for Berto so that def tells me that he was cutting to much weight at Jr WW.

This. Ortiz looks much stronger at this weight. He is clearly bigger than Floyd. Size alone doesn't win fights but it can help compensate for other weaknesses.
