As we all know here comes Roach's predictions again... so far he's been good at them: 1. Pac vs De La Hoya: But throughout fight week, Roach has not backed off his prediction that Pacquiao, 29, will drop the 35-year-old De La Hoya in nine rounds. "We're not going to knock him out with one punch," said Roach. "We're going to break him down. Oscar has a great chin so we're not going to win by one punch. When you get older, you don't absorb punches like you did when you were younger." 2. Pac vs Hatton: Ricky Hatton himself has claimed that he will knock Pacquiao out in 6 rounds. Roach answered back, "We're going to knock him out in three". 3. Pac vs Cotto: Roach predicted 9 rd KO... which the fight should have been stopped at that round.. can't fight the exact quote but I think roach had mentioned this on the 24/7 So far roach is pretty spot on his predictions.. but i really don't know abt this Clottey fight.. I'm still seeing a UD from Pacman...
If they can get to Clottey's body due to his high guard.. I can defo see a stoppage of some sort. (I think body attack will be the focus of team Pac) Because ain't no way Clottey's head will get damaged in there, not even w/ a Baseball bat.
[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BzSM5Zr96dc[/ame] Look at 5:35 I think they are working on the body shots
I tell you what...Clottey is a tough, tough mofo. I just can't see him getting knocked out, but then again, I didn't think Pac would pole-axe Hatton with a single punch, nor did I think he'd pound Cotto the way he did, so...I guess we'll find out next Saturday! If Pacquiao knocks Clottey out, I see it coming more from Clottey's corner, or the ref stopping the fight. I'm sorry, but I am just having a rough time seeing this man get rocked like Cotto did. Pac is already something special, but if he knocks Clottey out, then he is beyond special!
Let's be real here, no one in the welterweight division is knocking Clottey's blockhead off. Forget about it. What's going to happen is Pacquiao is going to outbox Clottey with his superior boxing skills. That's all.
I'm inclined to believe you, but then again, I was also inclined to believe the people who said: "Oscar is too big for Manny" "Hatton is going to swarm and smother Manny, he's too tough" "Cotto is too strong for Manny, he's going to destroy his body" aaaaaand look what happened. Pacman is doing ludicrous things in the ring, and to be honest, nothing would surprise me at this point. If he knocked Clottey out, however unlikely it seems now, will all make sense in a week if it happens.
Nope. Not "anybody". However, going against someone of Pacquiao's calibre whilst underprepared spells disaster. There are a slew of reasons that Clottey will be going into this fight at a marked disadvantage. Pacquiao is going to chew him apart.
Two points regarding Pacquiao knocking Clottey out: 1. Clottey is underprepared. 2. Even if Clottey wasn't underprepared, in what way is his style NOT tailor made for Pacquiao? Clottey loves to cover up with a high guard. Pacquaio is a sharp puncher who can split the guard with fast, hard shots, from difficult-to-predict angles. Pacquiao is going to do just that - split the guard. Clottey's head is going to get rattled repeatedly and heavily throughout this fight. If he is on his feet after twelve rounds, it will be a credit to his chin, not his defense.
