The fact there are fans out there who want to see rematches of fights where one guy was being beat on for 12 rounds goes to show how dire boxing is today or/and that there is very little choice out there for Pacquiao (and Floyd). Yes, the rematch would be SLIGHTLY more interesting at 154lb and not at all interesting at a catchweight. So what. I'm a Manny fan but this takes the ****. I'm just not interested in watching Pacquiao v Cotto II....period. Or Marquez IV, for that matter.

The first fight was pretty exciting. The extra weight contributes some uncertainty to the rematch. Plenty of rematches throughout history where the prior fight was one sided.

it was exciting for 4 rounds...then Cotto backpeddled and the fight looked a lot like the Margarito fight except Cotto ran away

i dont believe Cotto wants the fight and Manny doesnt want to fight him either

If what you say is true, and cotto don't want pac, he won't sign for the fight.

i believe at 150 he is a better fighter that 154 cause with the 2nd Margarito fight it was contracted at 152 and he looked solid but when he boxed floyd his side you can see the love handles so I don't believe 150 would be a problem

Why would that put Cotto at a disadvantage? He requested Marg come down to 150. Are you saying the champ would put himself at harm just to get an edge over a one eyed bum?

Cotto only does catchweights of 153. Manny should understand that he has to meet certain demands before he tries to be someone he is not. Cotto pretty much told Manny to **** himself and he would make a bunch of money fighting independtly. Manny just doesn't have the money type of draw that he tries to make the public think he has...and by him I mean his team...he is sloppy and vulnerable these days...he is lucky his promoter will make sure he beats Marquez even if he deos not "beat" Marquez....

Manny got scared of the weight. Cotto knew better than to let his body become weak again...Manny turned it down cuz he didn't want a strong Cotto. Manny is always having to weaken his opponents.

It's more often about relative advantages against an opponent, not the absolute peak weight of a fighter. Margarito was bigger than Cotto and getting to 150 would hurt him loads more. Pacquiao is smaller than Cotto and the 150 limit would suit him loads more.

Likewise, welterweight Cotto had to come in at 145 yet the Pacquiao camp insisted on the full welterweight limit against Marquez (until Golden Boy matched the offer) and Bradley.
