Come on now are you sure that Witter v Hatton will bring that much attention? Outside of hardcore fans nobody knows or gives a fcuk about him, I believe Hatton should fight him as they are both world champs who live near each other. If Witter impresses on the ITV card and doesn't stink the place out then the two of them will be much closer to fighting.

As for the fans, Hatton is keeping them perfectly happy. Juan Lazcano is nowhere near as bad as all of the 'haters' have been claiming he is, and is a much bigger name than Witter is (including stateside).

Involving the WBU defences, they were learning fights and many of them were due to Frank Warrens grip. Give Hatton credit for breaking away from that weasel and setting out on his own to get exciting big publicity fights and stop being blinded by your obvious hate for him. It's disgracefull how Hatton has been treated on this forum, your not a boxing fan at all, just bitter.

Lazcano is not bigger in the states than Witter, no one knows about any of them. (Casual fans that is)

And Witter is a way bigger name in Britain than Lazcano. Hatton could seel out arenas no matter who he fights so thats no excuse not to fight Witter.

It appears you see the world through a rose tinted lense. Now for the record Hatton and Witters history goes back 8 years. They were BOTH promoted by Warren/ SN. Hatton stated PUBLICALLY after the Vince Phillips bout that Witter was pencilled into his contract for a domestic clash between the 2. Hatton later nixed the bout and back tracked because he got cut in the Phillips fight.

Over the long years we have heard myriads of excuses from Hatton, Witter doesnt have a title, Witter isnt exciting enough, Witter doesn bring any money etc etc. Well Witter is now in a position that Hatton NEVER expected. His now the rightful number 2 in the division on the basis of credibility alone deserves his shot as his earnt it. His excuses over the years coupled with his lies an inane meanderings have been nothing short of shambolic. This fight could have happened years ago.Hatton stated PUBLICALLY along with Warren that this fight could be built up and needed time.Is 8 years long enough? .. Well the time is now now that both are world ranked and recognised names, and yet Hatton still doesnt have the balls to put his dick on the line and show us what his really made of. His supposed to be the best light welter in the world. We dont even know if he`s the best in Britain.

He never went the traditional route that Witter did. Instead he avoided a prime Urkal when he was the EBU mandatory, gave up his WBO shot vs Corley, (as we all know what Hattons like with southpaws) and did the same with the WBA. Finally landing a well timed shot against a fighter who had 1 foot in retirement. So what we`ve seen instead is Ricky made 15 or so defences of a spurious belt who`s base is in a cottage in Norwich under the auspices of WORLD TITLE boxing on Sky.

Now if you was a TRUE fan of boxing you`d know the reality. You`d know the reality is Lazcano is a glorfied 140lb`der who`s best victory at 140 was against Ben Tackie whos seen much better days. You`d also know that the IBO is NOT a WORLD TITLE deserving public recognition. You`d also know that Lazcano hasnt fought in well over a year. And you also know that his body of work at 140lbs is a whopping zero. Meanwhile Hatton and his cheer leaders claim "what does Witter bring to the fight how does he deserve a bout!" How about we reverse that question and taking into account what Lazcano has done at 140 ask you cheer leaders that question?

So no im not a bitter im disgusted. Unlike the fair weather fans that support Ricky most of whom wouldnt know the diffrence between boxing and MMA, iv been watching this sport for a little bit longer than a minute. Im not a casual arm chair fan who thinks Hatton holds a world title, im also not buying into his bull**** hype and insistence on robbing British fans of what we want and have wanted for YEARS. Hatton could take a **** in the ring and his fans would still cheer. Enzo and Haye were able to get it on. Why cant Hatton and Witter? Il tell you why because the kids well balanced apple cart has WAY to much to loose and his fans know it too.Lets deal with the REAL world when talking about Ricky and not the fairy tales his obviously fooled you with.

i think this fight will happen. too much money for it not to. this fight will be much more realistic and competitive than a pac-dlh or a pac-pbf match-up.

Hatton vs. Witter would sell out even if they fought in the states with the way Hatton gets support from his fans. There is money to be made from the fightno doubt and it's one of the most important fights at 140. I think it will happen eventually though.

It is the most important fight at 140 - but let's not forget, Hatton isn't the only top dog to swerve a fight with the No. 1 contender in his division in order to make big bucks elsewhere.

i don't think hatton pacquiao will happen. at least not before he gets to settle well at 135lbs. pacquiao needs to establish himself first at 135 before even entertaining a 140lb mega fight with whoever...

When he becomes 135lb champ, that will be the "establish"ment involved :)

If Hatton underestmates Pac, hes in for a long night. If he trains hard, he wins quite easily. I always said that Pac woul obliterate Juan Diaz but Hatton will win cos hes in a different league. Underrated offense and speed, great footwork, ridiculously strong, great stamina.
