You took my last sentence and negated the entire paragraph. My point was the comparison of Judah and Corely to Manny would give reason to why Manny could outclass and destroy Floyd is voided by the fact that neither Judah nor Corely really dented Mayweather's armor enough to have won more than two or three rounds. The chin portion came into point solely due to the "power" factor. He hurt Cotto and cut him but even with a flush shot, could not pain Floyd.
A great deal of trouble? Judah won a couple of the early rounds... It wasnt a split decision...there was no back and forth... Judah and Manny are completely different fighters...
Manny has the speed and workrate, but lacks size and reach to over come Floyd, he would have to extend to land punches which would leave him open to counters. My boy here Khan has the size, reach, speed, good jab to trouble Floyd but he is still too young in the game to go up vs some like Mayweather, maybe in a year or two if Khan keeps winning and Floyd wants a big pay day here in the U.K you never know. For me Speed and a good fast long jab is the key to beating Floyd.
That's sorry reasoning. So should we count Floyd out since Pac stopped a guy who Floyd got a split dec over. We won't know **** til they step in the ring. What we do know is that Pac didn't lose a round to Oscar or Hatton, while Floyd didn't lose a round to Marquez. Two totally different styles, and Pac has the goods to give him hell. When is the last time you ever saw Floyd in the ring with someone as good as Pac, never. Let's see how you feel after the Cotto fight.
. link --> Floyd Mayweather Jr. (compared to Mosley & Cotto) is the safest fight for Pacquiao... 2nd safest actually... .
Did Manny have to extend to hit Oscar. The key to this fight is footwork. And I know the Floyd fans say that Floyd has great footwork and they are right he does. BUT his footwork is not as good as Manny's. And being just a little behind is the same as being miles behind when it comes to footwork. Its not something you are competitive in especially when fighting a southpaw. You either win or loose. When Manny comes in to flurry he is either outside of Floyd's left foot or Floyd cuts him off and is free to counter. There is no in between. Either Manny has position or Floyd has position there is no draw. While Floyd has fantastic footwork Manny is better and in that little footwork battle Manny will beat Floyd every time. No for a southpaw superior footwork and a strong left is the key to beating Floyd.
Why do you think that Floyd would fight that style against pacman? IMO pacman would get murdered fighting Floyd. Floyd is faster then pacman and pacman has bad defense. It might go the distance but Mayweather would be a clear winner.
Manny had to extend vs a dead man walking, no speed, no punch ODH, you cant compare him to a prime Floyd. I disagree Floyd has better footwork and would counter the smaller fighter for most of the fight and i feel KO Manny.
Im not comparing speed. I'm comparing reach. Without the footwork to beat Manny Floyd's reach doesn't' make that much of a difference. Manny is never and never does come straight in anymore. He is always coming in at an angle. If floyd cant cut him off and square back up his reach advantage doesn't acount for much. He wont fight that style. He will go to his high guard as he as done against southpaws in the past. And out of his high guard he is not even close to the fighter he is out of his shell and thats the point. Roach knows that in his shell Floyd is masterful but he also knows that southpaws force Floyd into a high guard from which he is good but not great. In that high guard he is very beatable. There is also the question of vision. One reason floyd loves the shell so much is that it provides great vision. Much of his defense is based on quick recognition. The high guard on the other hand reduces your vision.
What you dont take into account reach...Floyd has that advantage and can fight excellent on the backfoot...So even if Manny's feet are slightly faster it will not be easy for Manny to close the gap fast enough throw and land on a great defensive fighter like Floyd. You have to use more than one track for your train of thought...
