Mate, right and write are not two different ways of spelling the same word. They are entirely different with polar opposite meanings.

A better example would have been centre/center or theatre/theater.

 

thats what i meant the same word spelled differently with different meanings...i just left out the different meanings part but i was pretty much spot on. when you say right or write it sounds exactly the same thats why you have to specific.

Right and write are however not the same word. They have totally different meanings. They just sound the same.

Right does have different meanings though as in correct and a direction. There are other uses too but I've prob bored you enough with this post already.
