He basically confirmed that DLH was in better form fighting Mayweather and the same goes for Hatton ... he was just banking on the fact that Pac stopped both of them.

He also kept talking about fighting at catchweights ... if you just beat Oscar DLH at 147, why can't you fight at 147 again against Shane Mosley or Miguel Cotto ... he's going to screw himself out of some good fights.

I can tell you like this those welterweights don't need him to make money ...

Miguel Cotto, Shane Mosley, Paul Williams, Antonio Margarito, Floyd Mayweather and Andre Berto are good to go without Pacquiao.

Let Roach enjoy the spotlight. Its not often a trainer comes across a guy like Pac, and he deserves all the credit in the world for doing what he's done even if he talks **** like he's the one thats gonna get in the ring.

Why should he fight Mosley, Cotto, or Floyd at anything else other than 147?

Although the welterweights don't need him to make money (300 dollars or 300000), they do NEED him for the type of money they want to make in a single fight; Pac offers the ability for them to make 2 fold what they would normally make in a single fight.

I agree about the catchweight BS -- if Roach is boasting about how much better his fighter dominated De La Hoya at 147lbs, then he shouldn't have any issues with his fighter continuing to fight at that weight; he even said so himself, to be considered great or the #1 guy, you have to fight the best. In Pac's case, he's already fought at 147lbs and is taking the glory from it, why not fight the best in that division too.

He didn't say anything about Hatton. He was in a catch-22 on De La Hoya, and he said what he had to say. What was he going to say, that Hoya was in better shape when Beristain was training him than when Roach trained him?

It had nothing to do with Nacho ... it had more to do with the truth ... 147 a weight he hadn't fought at in years or 154 a weight that he won his last fight in.

Roach was pathetic last night lol, and he got caught out there too. Kenny let him live because he had to get revenge on Floyd. Kenny even got Shane to call out Floyd lol.

It always amazes me how much anger there is for Freddie Roach! People are so pissed that Manny went up to 147 and beat the hell out of Oscar, that they now throw all these excuses out! The bottom line is Oscar.......who is a multi millionaire.... could have came in heavy and faced Pac man at a comfortable weight, but he didnt want to pay the penalty. He was arrogant enough to think he could walk all over this little man, and made a huge mistake. I have said it before, all i heard before the oscar fight was how he was going to blow manny out in one or two rounds..........now these same people act like it what happened was obvious. Floyd almost lost his ass to oscar and it was oscars stupidity that lost him that fight......not Freddies game plan!

Now these people come on here and other forums and go off on Roach for protecting his fighter! His job is to get his fighter the best fight with the best advantages...PERIOD! so dont fault him for that! Floyd does the same thing and always has....chosing the size of the ring so he can run, the size of the gloves so he doesnt get hit hard and any thing else he can get away with! NOW though Floyd might be in a negotiation with someone who has the ball in their court and he cant stand it.....

Tell me why would Freddie fight at 147 when he knows that 140 is a much better weight for Manny to make? Why would he make his fighter struggle to make these welterweights rich??? if they want to make 15 or 20 million off manny let them kiss his ass for the fight!

^ yeah really .. granted Floyd is fighting JMM at a catchweight (unless the 144 got switched up to Welter)

however the fact that Roach was willing to let Manny fight DLH at Welter

yet when it comes to Cotto/Mosley who also fight at Welter currently, Roach wants it below 147.

    cherry pick much?

regarding above .. fighter advantages aside, having Mosley and or Cotto cut down below the Welter limit and into the 144-143 range potentially takes a lot out of what could have been a much more competitive bout.

Yes Roach has to protect his fighter, but can he also be reasonable?

    Freddie is the man.

Mayweather will beat Pac bc it is a bad style matchup for Pac. That is boxing. Mayweather would lose to Williams bc of styles.
