The welters should appreciate that the new p4p king is offering them a catchweight. The OP seems to have forgotten that Manny moved up to 147 because Oscar was the cash cow at that time but now the cash cow is a "lightwelter" named Pacquiao. He also forgot that it was Cotto who first called out Manny to a catchweight. Likewise, Shane is begging Pac like a lost puppy (now that his manager Jen is gone) and Floyd is in debt without a title. Shane and Floyd have both moved down from 154, not only for better money but because they new that they couldnt compete as well there. However, the Floyd fans never diss Floyd for avoiding the best at 154 or for avoiding the likes of Paul Williams. Manny, however moved up and fought the best lightwelter in Rick Hatton. Moreover, the main reason that Oscar was willing to go down to 147 was not just because he had a personal grudge against Pac and loved the money but also because he was smart enough to listen to those fans who were ridiculing him for fighting "little" Stevie Forbs.

Roach either has Pac fight at 147 or openly admit that he only ever let Pac near DLH because of the weight drain on Oscar.

He cant say Pac would beat Oscar anytime (Im sure he said some **** like that to Floyd sr just before the Pac/Hatton fight) & then ask for a catchweight vs Floyd or Shane.

Welter is the most logical to fight at .. I dig that. and besides with all the money at stake, and Roach publicly stating that there would be no fight if DLH a pound over 147 (I believe I've heard that exact quote before)

the DLH-Pac fight HAD to be at 147, or possibly worst case scenario no fight.

I guess we'll have to see how a Pacquiao vs Mosley/Cotto/ or Floyd fight shapes out ... because at this point it's all very hypothetical.

keep in mind, yes those 3 Welter's are calling out Pac (or have made some sort of noise about a fight vs Manny)

but IMO it's kind of dumb if Roach wants to stick to his 142-143 or no fight since Mosley/Cotto and Floyd are Manny's best options as far as opposition/pay day from 140-147 and if Roach refuses to budge and they can't get down that low

No, Floyd made his name fighting capable prime opponents back then when you like him before you ever heard of PAc. That's why when PAc piggy backed common opponents of Floyd, he still didn't generate as much as Floyd also:bbb.

True,it was Oscars own dumb greedy fault,but the fact is Pac still only beat a weight drained zombie of a part time fighter.A dumb zombie granted,but still an emaciated zombie.

Marquez and Pacquiao ar more or less the same size in real life, therefore why would anyone question Pacquiao for not being eager to fight at 147 against the best, while on the other hand, no one will question Marquez for fighting at a catchweight with Mayweather ?

For example : You can't ask Pacquiao to be dominant against Mosley at 147 when Mosley is now a big 147, formerly fought a few fights at 154 and is known to bench around 300 lbs....

Pacman started out at only 106 lbs...don't forget that !

 

it's like you wanted pac instead to go up three weight classes, all the way from 135 to 154 and fight dlh in his natural weight class. pac ended going up 2 weight classes while dlh went down one for their fight. this was the best fair senario for a fight between them to be made. the bottomline is that dlh green-lighted this fight and got his come-uppance thinking he can bully around a former flyweight while making a ton of money in the process.
