Benavidez has been trained by his Dad since he was like 6, not by Freddie Jose proved himself a class boxer beyond his years as a amatuer, before he met Roach. all im saying is his dad should get the glory for being the trainer.
He's not taking the glory, but Freddy is the expert. And at the pro game he will make Benavidez learn better things so by the time he gets to the proper matches where competition is tough, Freddys tactics will be evident. Ben is having a lot of fights though which is excellent.
Also being with Roach gets you exposure. I'm the dad is willing to take a back seat for some exposure and he knows this.
