nice try but duran was a "former" lightweight who grew up in body size to a middleweight not a "current" lightweight during that time

I don't even know where to begin with this crap. Roach is an idiot. Whatever happened to fighters with balls? Billy Conn fought Joe Louis at 166 pounds. Carpentier fought Dempsey. Stanley Ketchel fought Jack Johnson and ALL were at considerable size disadvantages.

I am sick and damn tired of Manny Pacquiao and either laughable demands or catchweight fights.

Yeah, he was 27 with over seventy fights and he was a lightweight.

And then he 'grew up' ?
    :rofl:rofl:rofl

    :yep

You're flogging a dead horse here, man.

The fight is doable at 154.

Sergio recently fought Williams at 154 (18 months ago) and Pac won a title at 154 six months ago against Marg (a guy who holds a win over Sergio).

And it would be the biggest purse available for a guy who started late and is nearing the end, so why wouldn't he at least toss out the idea ?

As a fan of both, I think Sergio is a tad too big for Pac. It would be a great fight though !

I would advise Pac against it. But I understand why Sergio is making the play for it.

Mayweather, who is , without a doubt, afraid to fight Pac, should move up and face Sergio.

And Pac should close the book on Marquez.

Ok all of ESB'ers getting hurt on Pac not fighting Martinez as a MW. It's a simple question of who are begging for a fight.

Martinez is begging for a good payday that's why it's Manny's call for what weight to be decided.

JMM was begging, and got it, for a good payday, a retirement parachute if you will. Manny being generous accommodated him at 144 not the full WW.

Manny is the sweepstakes ticket and not calling for a fight, so whoever want's a big payday they have to dance to his music. BTW he do want to fight lil floyd for all the marbles but the little one is a scared coward and would prefer spending jail time than to face Pac.

He didn't exactly call him out, but he mentioned him, together with Leonard and Hearns, as fights he'd like to get in order to gain recognition (and $$$$).

While commenting on fight for network tv in 81 or 82.

duran grew up in fat just like toney did, he was fighting middleweights after hagler shows he can't cut to the lower weights no more. Pac never won a title at 154, never fought margo at 154. That was a fake title in a new weight class, 2 guys who aren't rank at 154 suddenly gets to fight for the vacant title. BS:deal

Mayweather wasn't clearly cut out for 154, he weighed in 150 in his fight with oscar but allowed oscar no catchweight and oscar was a true champion in that weight being lineal champ and rank #1 also. Floyd's home is at 147
