Roach is right that is the key to defeating Mayweather. It is also the keyt o beating a Prime Mike Tyson, Ali, and most any other great skill fighter...just go beat him up.

I wonder if this is the first time anyone will try this approach?

The body. That was DLH's and Hatton's plan. Hatton is fast and is known to break down his opponents with body shots, at a very high success rate. Unlike the above mentioned fighters, Manny will attack with speed, accuracy and timing, and he will connect and it will be painful. People will call PBF shot and the JMM fight proved it.

If Manny's great speed and power could be negated by JMM, why do you think FMJ can't? Seriously.

There is no blueprint to beat a guy thats undefeated.
Judah fought him best for 4 rds. but if u cant stop the guy what does it mean?
    The Oscar fight was bull****.
Oscar gloves, ring, wieght class. Floyd kicked his ass.

You can't rush Floyd Mayweather...you can pick up your pace but if you don't land those punches then it doesn't matter...that's his game.

Paul Williams would have a very hard time keeping Floyd Mayweather away from him.

He'd smother Paul...guarantee. He'd make Paul Williams the counterpuncher and it's hard to counter body shots on the inside when your 6'0 feet tall.

Paul Williams is a good fighter but Floyd would exploit his footwork for what it is and right now it's not the best and eventually all of this weight changing will catch up with Paul.

When it comes to boxing dude is the total package.

Roy Jones, Bernard Hopkins, and James Toney...all in one fighter.

If your a real Floyd Mayweather fan...YOU KNOW for a 100% fact that no one is going to beat him up.

He'd get knocked out before that happens.

It's unbelievably stupid to take Floyd' lack of physicallity or finesse for granted. Roach or Manny should take Hatton as an example that you can't simply beat Mayweather up. Floyd has power in both hands and can apply it in his defensive mode like he did it to Hatton. Manny should use all of his fast and light feet and do not allow Mayweather to fight tall.

the problem with hatton, though, is that he just kept coming straight forward with no head movement and every time he would lunge in with that left hook he would drop his right hand. i remember floyd saying he had a fool-proof plan to knock out ricky and i believe that was it. he was destroying hatton the whole fight with straight rights and left hooks and it still took until the 10th to get him out of there. there is no way in hell manny's gonna be that easy to hit.

Remember, even in those first four rounds, Floyd took one of them. Zab did not clearly beat him in each of those four rounds. Also, every good boxer needs a defining breakdown time. It can be two rounds or six. The end result is the same. Look at Shane Vs. Oscar 1. Took Shane five rounds to figure out the south paw stance was better against Oscar. Sad night for Manny.

you're joking right. when was the last time anyone had a hard time "keeping floyd away from him"? when was the last time floyd "smothered" anyone? you've got it completely backwards. williams would be the one pressuring and smothering floyd. 100+ punches a round with floyd running the whole time does not make for a good fight. stylistically, PW is a nightmare for floyd and i would put all my money on him to win that matchup.

If Manny can get rid of dlh and Hatton a lot faster than Floyd can, what do you think Manny can do to PBF? Cotto beat Mosely, mosely beat margo, margo beat cotto....now tell me, does your reasoning apply? It does not.
