makes sense but you just want to make sure your fighter is fit and sharp, honestly 100 sounds more then enough
The guy has fought 20+ years. He ain't going to learn anything new sparring. They should just focus on being mentally and physically rested and alert on the fight night. Be hungry.
Here in lies the problem. Not only isn't he going to learn anything new, Freddie can't teach him anything new ! Mayweather = UD... Same as it ever was....
100 rounds seems a bit light however they can modify how they spread those rounds throughout camp and also ensure Manny is sharp with other exercises. Nothing beats sparring for preparation but "everything in moderation". Which has a different meaning for not just PAC at age 36, but Mayweather at age 38. The rigors of multiple training camps a year is hard on the body and adjustments need to be made when age begins to play a role.
The Irony....don't you see your reasoning actually hits Floyd worse? Sr. and Roger hasn't and cant teach Jr anything. Floyd has none to help improve himself. No matter what level a persons at, people still need to keep learning else they rust. Pac working out strategies with Roach will always have a feedback loop to work and improve on.
This also could be more preventative medicine. At this age and point in his career, they probably don't want to risk a hand injury or more calf issues. Hopefully this strategy works.
