Overrated and mediocre? Negative. The only case you have for such a baseless claim would be Toney's tenure in the HW division.

Is Manny Pacquiao the best fighter you ever worked with?

No, but Pacquiao is the most dedicated guy I have ever worked with and also the most improved fighter from day one to now.

Who is the best fighter then?

Well, you know, I trained natural fighters like James Toney, I worked with Mike Tyson. I can’t really judge who the best fighter was, technique-wise. But as far as improvement and will-to-win, Manny is probably the best at that. - Roach

Natural talent and steroids come together great, Jones, Toney and Mosley all showed that.

Toney lost to the Delawarean Dave Tiberi in a Middleweight Championship bout but Tiberi got rob and I doubt that he is more skilled then RJJ or B-Hop IMO

He was taking Ripped Fuel that was an over the counter supplement, it wasn't a steroid.

    :good

He's the kind of guy that was just MADE to fight. Even when he's a fat ****, he LOOKS fast because his reflexes and instinct are so perfect that he gets out of the way of punches before his opponent even throws.

When people compare him to guys like archie moore and joe walcott, they are absolutely correct. :good

Toney wasn't even the most technically skilled middleweight of his era, though he is a great technician.

The sad thing is most of today's boxing fans only know this current version of James Toney ..Not too many were fortunate enough to watch him south of light heavy when he reigned and was the best fighter p4p leading up to his clash with RJJ ..

You're like the blind man that holds an elephant's tail 'n says, "This must be a snake." Did you watch Toney -- or BOXING -- before you came on here in '08.
