Derevyanchenko is a top fighter who has been robbed of at least two great victories. What are you talking about? He just fought on Saturday and dominated Alexander.
My rational mind tells me Canelo will piece up Munguia with counters and likely stop him mid to late; however as the fight edges closer I am warming to Munguia possibly taking it. Munguia has genuine, fight ending power at the weight and he has shown improvements pretty much on a fight to fight basis; again, rationally I think Canelo will win easily but the devil at the back of my head fancies Munguia.
I think Munguia has a legit shot. He will at least show up to try and win as oppose to some fighter that only saw Canelo as a payday. Munguia weakness is he tends to freeze when caught with a good punch. He has a good chin and decent power. Throws in bunches. And no I am far far from a Canelo fan. Hell I can pull up threads where people call me a Canelo hater.
Vaugh Alexander is 18-11, how on earth is that an accomplishment? The guy is 38 and was a shell of his former self against Munguia, yet still did enough to beat him and almost knocked him out. Munguia was lucky to get that gift. Even Adames was able to beat him, close fight but he clearly won. The Canelo fight is a joke and a clear duck.
I doubt he will be as active as usual once Canelo starts making him miss while countering the bejesus out of him. Munguia is an excellent combination puncher, but it´s fairly simplistic at the same time. He spams the same moves over and over.
Munguía is not as bad a many people here think he is. He is a good fighter. But he is not that good. Canelo will win that fight without breaking a sweat
