 I think it's funny to see how much has changed and how some posters now respect PAC and others are still coming up with excuses to why he's still dominating.

Goes to show the level of Boxing knowledge in here ZERO.

Now in hindsight, PACdBest was truly the best poster ESB ever had. The guy went against the grain, he spoke to fighters, hung out at gyms and knew what was going on.

It was seriously underestimated how badly going back down to 147lbs would impact De La Hoya.

The funny thing is I remember telling Pacdbest in a little skirmish that Pacman might suffer going up in weight to fight DLH when he went back down afterward to 130-135. I said that the weight might destroy Pac as weight climbing and then dropping affected RJJ. What I didn't consider is how would the weight drop affect DLH. My concern over Pac meant nothing as Pac intended to stay close to the weight he picked up and never have to experience it.

In hindsight.......DLH didn't do all that bad with PAC. I mean he went 8 rounds with him. Hatton only lasted 2 and Cotto really only should have been allowed at the very most to the end of round 8 before his corner should have stopped it. Was DLH really shot?:think I've always said PAC should get more credit for that performance and people should stop making excuses for DLH.

Exactly. Shilstone said it correctly that going up in weight is much easier than coming down. Coming down kills the body, whereas there are intelligent ways to go up.

It didn't really impact him that much just like what he said before the fight - "I feel better at 147 than when I was at 154!".

It just goes to show that Pac was really that good.

Relax. Just wanted to see how people felt about Roach's idea in hindsight. It was interesting to note that even Pacfans wanted Roach to shut up about fighting Oscar. I think it just goes to show that people in-the-know are those who actually make a living out of boxing.

At least tell it like it is......Pac at the time had only fought one fight past 130 lbs, against the paper champion David Diaz.....
    .....
.....were you *******s asking for Pac to be favored and be given a realistic chance to climb all the way up to 147 lbs and be able to carry any semblance of power in which to hurt DLH?????

......hindsight of course showed us that the assumption that DLH would outweight Pacquiao by plenty, could'nt have been any more wrong.
......it turned out that Pacquiao actually outweighed DLH fightnight.

.....lets see.....the assumption by most was that DLH would officially weight 147 lbs and climb up the ring steps close to weighing 160 lbs.....
......that assumption was'nt even close.....DLH officially weighed 145 lbs, and climbed up the ring steps weighing 147 lbs:patsch
.....this conludes that DLH was either severely weight drained, or he ignoramously intentionally took away the biggest factor by which people thought he'd steamroll Pacquiao.......Weight!!!

Stop whining *******s that Pacquiao was'nt given a chance against DLH......the truth is that the great majority of this forum would have picked Pacquiao had they had any idea that DLH would climb the ring steps weighing only 147 lbs.
