Roach wants tougher low blow rule for Pacquiao-Cotto

How the hell did that look "Vince McMahish"? Manny was the fighter coming up in weight to fight a guy that fought as high as 160 that they thought was gonna be very strong. Roach felt the type of way Oscar wraps by rolling up the tape between the knuckles creating a tiny piece of rope which he felt could have cut Manny. THAT'S NOT "PRO WRESTLING DRAMA". Was Hopkins and Nazim Richardson acting "Vince McMahish" when they exposed Tito's hand wraps? No they were not.

 

A trainer is there to protect his fighter!!!!

If he perceives that the handwraps were illegal, then rightfully so he should raise a voice. Infact, it is his responsibility to make sure that the opponent wraps his hands properly by default and should do it well. Handwraps can make or break a fight because illegally wrapped hands can cause cutsor much worse injuries.

What pisses me off are trainers who actually do not do anything for their fighter. If Roach was the trainer of JMM in the fight against Mayweather, I am sure that that fight should have been a proper catchweight and surely, he wopuld have forced Mayweather to shed the 2 pounds he came in above the weight stipulated. Mayweather already had all the advantages in that fight, and allowing him to weigh-in above the stipulated weight is actually a

When the fight was rescheduled, Beritain should have objected since probably one o the reasons why Mayweather did so was weight issues. If he was not able to weigh in at 144 despite postponement of the fight, then surely there is something fishy going on - Mayweather was nowehere 144 during the first date of the fight.

Would the outcome be any different???? Probably not but who knows!!!

Wow! Judah was 2 years ago. He was in trouble against Margarito did YOU see anything illegal? He was in trouble against Clottey after the headbutt, which Clottey does more often than not, and he fights him the full 12 but yet people feel he cheats because CLottey was trying to jump ON COTTO like a horse?? Roach on the other hand doesn't want Cotto to come blazin' pac's body bc he knows it will be short night for the Philipino. People might want to criticize Cotto all they want but when it comes to a WHO's who of FIGHTGERS on their resume Cotto is 2nd to none. ok maybe to Mosley but that's it.

 

Clottey didn't jump on Cotto like a "horse". And You can't rank Cotto's resume higher than Pac's because they're about even with an edge to Manny. Manny has beaten world champions and has taken titles which Cotto has not. But to not be biased Cotto holds a victory over Shane Mosley who's ranked #1 at welterweight right now. Cotto has a very good resume, but not to the degree of "who's who" yet. Just to name a few fighters, Oscar Delahoya, Felix Trinidad, & Bernard Hopkins have a "whos who" resume of fighters they fought. Not Miguel Cotto. He's not in that category yet.

With a poster with almost 10,000 posts and only been here a little over a year, I'd say its a former middleweight champ with alot of time on his hands......

Actually I though Michael Nunn was a phemonenal talent who threw away his career to alcohol and drug use.

Nallege is a Floyd lover, so I'd say there's a good chance if he's really a former Middleweight champ, that its Michael Nunn.

:roll: Calm down there Jennifer.....this isn't anything new in this sport if you've followed it for very long. Catch weights, smaller men taking on bigger ones, complaints about dirty tatics before the fight...it's boxing and part of the game. And they will fight and all the talking will be done in the ring but if everyone shut up there would be no hype to build the fight.:yep

 

It'll be a fair fight and the best man will win. No excuses just a good fight between two warriors. Cotto is known for low blows when he's in trouble or at a disadvantage and Roach is putting it out there so if that does occur like it has in previous Cotto fights that it will not be tolerated. An auto DQ is crazy but I think that was more "hype" than anything else. Beltline shots are fine and the ref will know the difference but a low blow is a low blow and that would not be legal in any commission/sactioned fight.
