Another publicity bull****. What tougher rule??? It is illegal, period. What the **** he wants?? Ban a boxer from the sport if a low blow occurs???

"How many deliberate low blows should Cotto be allowed? Two? Three? He has a clear history of going low in key moments"

There will be plenty of key moments in this fight. Therefore the "one deliberate low blow per round" rule should be in effect.:hey

I dont know about you guys, but what ever happened to the good, well adjusted ball guards that we used to have? I had plenty of fights, and the only thing i felt when i got hit downstairs was the need to milk a point off the ref every once in awhile....

I do not think Cotto hits low to evade danger he is in, it happens in this sport often, What I will say is if they tweak the rule a bit, its not good for the sport, not with a fight on this level, However I will say at the rules meeting, Cotto should point out the type of cups that Pacquiao has been using the last few fights since he has moved up.

its a custom designed cup, when you look at it from the front for the belly button to define the low blow line, you see the belly button no problem on the sides it rides way up above the rib line.

its almost in the shape of a U if that makes any sense, Freddy gets all of his fighters cups like this, Kinglsey Ikeke got one just before he fougth Abraham and if you watch that fight you will see Authors trainer pointing it out to the ref, the ref telling them to lower it, then he realizes it was designed that way, and kinda laughed at Roach for pulling this stunt.

Anyhow when ever a Roach fighter goes in there with a body banger, this cup is always there with them...... I expect Pac to look like a turtle come fight night.

I dont mind it that Roach voice his concerns to the referee on fightnight......
.....what is wrong here is that Roach is making a media campaign of it......and these type of public campaigns are apt to consciously or subcounciously effect the way a referee would normally work a fight.....

......when you take these types of things to the media as was exhibited by Roy Jones...... all of a sudden, because of the manipulation, legit blows to the beltline are called low blows.

.....so now if you have Cotto legitly hurting Pacquiao to the body, and the referee calling them low......it changes the dynamics of the fight, and forces Cotto to be extra weary of not getting close to the beltline.
You're taking away a Cotto weapon by putting fear into him that he might get disqualified even for a shot to the body thats at the beltline and above.

Kinda the way Paulie went off on Showtime about the judges prior to his fight with Diaz, it planted a seed.....

Hi divac, rarely saw you here lately.

Roach specifically said "deliberate" or intentional low blow. Intentional low blows are not part of fair boxing. Cotto is about two inches taller than Pac and should not have problem placing his shots in the proper targets. Not that his low blow would automatically be deliberate, just that he will need to duck lower to land below Pac's belt for it to look unintentional. Of these two, I would actually expect the smaller guy to land some low blows.

Roach is doing his job as he should, may it be mind game against Cotto.

Roach is taking it to the media as he likes to do.....

.....I've seen this type of shenanigans before......you publiclyh build up Cotto building him up as a low blowing cheater, now you have the ref inhibiting him from hitting Pac's body......and thus effecting the fight.

Roach takes it to the media these days.......what ever happend to the old fashioned way of settling it in the ring?????

Case in point, Evander Holyfield's early fights as a heavyweight......he was going up against Michael Dokes who had a history of fouling antics.....
.....early in the right, Dokes who thought he was going to show Holyfield how its done at the Heavyweight level, hits the then young Evander Holyfield low......

.......did Evander Holyfield turn to the referee to complain?????
Absolutely not......Holyfield immediately responded at Dokes by immediately planting one twice as hard right smack on Dokes family jewels.:lol:
.....from then on, Holyfield got Dokes respect and the fight went on without incident.

Great fighters settle it in the ring, and not through manipulative campaigns!!!:deal

Team Cotto should mention headbutts by Manny. Marquez had him going in their second fight. What did Manny do, lower that wide head and butt Marquez causing a cut. If you're looking for proof Fight#2 round 7 at 1:33. Pacquiao didn't even throw a punch to play it off. He was in escape mode. This post is going to make some noise. I stick to the script folks.
