It's just a matter of making their favorite boxer more relevant to somebody who just achieved nobody has ever done before.

Are you oblivious to the fact that everyone in Pacquiao's camp has said they have to overfeed him to mantain him as a welterweight????

They've been hyping Pacquiao all this time mantaining that Pacquiao's fighting welters only because thats where the better matchups are.......

......the very fact that Roach has done a 180 degree turn on this is because he knows that Marquez is at an extreme disadvantage fighting a roided Pacquiao at 147 lbs.

As I've said.......147 lbs I believe would be fine, but only with full random up to the day of the fight drug testing.
(we already know Pacquiao wont do that.)

The fight can be made at 150 lbs if thats what Pac wants, as long as there is full random testing and Pacquiao does'nt have the advantage of being physically aided by PED's.

Given the choice between the fight being at 147 lbs with full random testing or 140 lbs with the existing laughable testing........I'd bet 10 grand and my right nut that Roach does another 180 turn and says "to be fair to Marquez, the fight really needs to be fought at 140 lbs, Marquez just is'nt a welter.":lol::lol:

You think Team Pac and Top Rank will let GBP dictate anything to them? If Marquez demands random testing the fight doesn't get made, and they likely fight Mosley who is no longer at GBP, I don't believe, and even if he was will welcome the fight without such testing. There also a Cotto rematch I'm sure they'd rather make also. Believe that.

Because his best weight seems to be around 144. As all the great popular fighters before him, Leonard, De La Hoya, Mayweather, he will not sacrifice being at his best to give his opponent a better chance at beating him. It's not going to happen.

**** Roach and Manny. They never fight at a level playing field if they can help it. Weight drained De La HoyaMargarito and Cotto. now JMM at welterweight? They know it is too heavy for Juan Manuel. pac can easily make 140 and give Marquez a fair figt. Catchweights that favor him only. Bull****. Juan Manuel may have his number anyway.

Titles at a catchweight are bull****. That is why they have junior and super divisions. pac and freddy make the rules. Refused a third fight with JMM . Now he looks a bit shot they still want him at 147. No advantage no fight? Too bad roach is a canadian. We do'nt need the ****!!

    Roach is not Canadian dumbass.

If Pac doesn't fight Cotto at 147, he gets criticized. If he doesn't fight Margo at 154, he gets criticized. If he doesn't fight Marquez at 140, he gets criticized.

LOL. is there any other fighter who gets criticized for not fighting 3 different fighters in 3 different divisions.

 at the *******s who complained about Mayweather fighting JMM at 147lbs for a tune up wanting the same weight for an older Marquez as a rubber match

I think most people's main gripe with that situation was Mayweather coming in 2lbs over the contracted weight against a guy coming up from lightweight as it was.

If Pac crushes Marquez at 147, it won't be ranked as a great win, and no Pac fan will complain, don't worry about.

As a Pac fan this matchup for me is all about Pac smashing Marquez's head in for the bad sportsmanship and disrespect he's shown Pac over the years.

this fight is a joke. the only thing that makes it interesting is seeing if Pac can outdo what Floyd did to Marquez. Floyd fought him at 147, let's see if Pac can do better against Marquez at 147 than Floyd did.

although I'd rather this fight not happen at all.

Waste of time. Everyone knows Marquez doesn't belong at 47. Pac by annihilation.

140 or bust... **** this bull****. it's bad enough Pac is getting written into history books by winning sham titles against someone who hasn't done **** and doesn't deserve a title shot in that division. :-(

What the ****? Manny Pacquiao weighed 144.5lbs against Margarito. Roach telling us now his man cannot make 140lbs & still be strong?

He effectively contracted himself, saying the David Diaz fight was the last fight when he struggled to make weight. Well, he fought Hatton at LWW & weighed 138lbs! So why all of a sudden has every fight go to be at 147lbs?

Wonder what Roach would say if Paul Williams said he'll fight Pacman at Welter?
