Again,147 doesn't give Pac any added weight advantage over JMM. It is a weight ceiling. Pac only weighs a couple of pounds more then he did back when they rematched. At the end of the day their fight weights will be similar from their prior fights---Pac around 148, and JMM in the low 140's.

What a 147 limit does however is allow fairness in both sides. Sure Pac could prolly still make 140...but why should he have to when he'd be more comfortable coming in at 142-44 and not cut any weight?

Let go of your conspiracy theories and try to understand this obvious point of contention.

    great post

so it's just a weight ceiling...in that case floyd shouldn't be crucified for having the fight at the welterweight limit since jmm didn't have to weigh that much right?

you guys can't have it both ways lol

Two things that I'm very sure of and that is that if Pac and FMJ does happen, there will be no catch weight. The other thing I'm sure of is that the Pac/JMM fight will be @ a catch weight. I, along w/ a lot of Pac fans that I know personally, do not like this 147 limit bout w/ JMM.

Mayweather vs Pacquiao at 175lbs:hey. They don't have to make weight, as long as they don't go over

jmm will want 140 while pac's team will want 147. i think this fight can be @144 but unlike the other guy, pac will make the contracted catchweight.

JMM should insist on a catchweight.

floyd will want 154 while pac will push for 147. i think their fight if it ever happens can be at a catchweight.

Analogy FAIL...are you serious? You should be crucified for not honoring any kind of contract. Not ony did Floyd already hold a significant size advantage, he actually added insult to injury by going over it. The point is, the argument that 147 is a ploy to give Pac some sort of weight advantage just don't fly....they both can come in at thier best weights...at 140, Pac runs the risk of having to cut weight. Why is this so hard to understand?

Yes genious, technically you could do this....because they are actually making weight if the fight is at 175.

Thats the same logic that *******s used for the Mayweather random testing debates......

......they said Mayweather was willing to have a testing window of 14 days, so they should meet somewhere inbetween and have the window at 24 days.:lol::lol:

....when the reality is that Mayweather did not want a nontesting window, and Pac initially would agree at 30 days out......
.....the halfway point would be the 14 days Mayweather was agreeable to let happen.

The same with the a third Pac-JMM matchup......Pac's campaigning at Welter and has never tipped the scales at the limit.......Marquez has been campaigning as a 135 lbs......

If you want to be fair about it, Pac officially weighed 144 lbs for Margo, Marquez 135 lbs in his last fight (actually Marquez officially weighed 133.5 in his last fight vs Diaz.)

The fair way to do it is to meet at the division inbetween, which is 140 lbs, which Roach has said in the recent past is what Pacquiao's natural weight is anyways.

Pacquiao still has the weight advantage at 140 lbs because he's proven at that weight (1 punch KO of Hatton) while Marquez is not.

If I remember correctly, after the KO of Hatton, the *******s here were in the same boat saying that 140 lbs was the weight Pacquiao really belonged in.
......of course now that Roach does'nt want Pacquioa near 140 lbs vs Marquez, the *******s wont go there and talk about what weight class Pacquiao's physical body is better suited for.

You're just pulling my leg, right? MP and FMJ are very comfortable and @ their best @ WW. These two has more serious things to iron out and fight weights are not one of them.

I know they can. SO they might as well do it then and they can come in whatever weight they're comfortable with.

Freddy and Manny like to have all the advantages. !43 for Cotto, 150 for Margarito. They want no part of Juan Manuel at 140. they saw that he was slower at the higher weight against Floyd. let manny come down one division and Juan Manuel move up one. Fair playing field for both guys. Or do the OSD testing up to the day of the fight!! Marquez is a proud warrior and wants this fight so badly he may agree to roach and manny's terms.

Maybe in your imaginary world you could promote a 175 fight pitting 2 140lbers. In the real world there's this thing called reason and practicality.

147===>practical and reasonable for BOTH JMM and Pac.
