Roach " we can do Marquez , but it must be @147 " !!

I scored the last fight to JMM. But at 147 and at Marquez' age I dont fancy it at all. Pac would beat him comfortably now.

 

JMM has taken an incredible amount of punishment in his last few fights upwards of 130. For this to be interesting, itll have to be at 140. JMM has absolutely limited power at 140 or even more so at 147 while Pacquiao has brought power and speed up with him.

Put it this way, these guys were evenly matched at 126-130. Now you diminish Marquezs power and speed and Pacs stays the same and even more power. Its going to be a joke of a fight and will not break 1Million buys.

 

This is a no win situation for Pac.

At 140- it is expected he wins. And it has to be in a convincing fashion (mid round TKO) or people will keep criticizing him.

At 147 - Even he wins convincingly, people will say "PBF left overs" "older" "shot" etc.

At catchweight - "Catchweight King" would be the Catchweight Emperor according to people like Vivek Wallace.


I really don't see the point. Even if he knocks him out early, I would not be surprised and all it does is shut up the JMM crowd. It adds nothing to his legacy.

I would rather see a Bradley, Alexander or if Cotto beats Marg, Cotto 2.

Of course this assumes PBF vs Pac does not happen.

 

As others have already said, the fight needs to be at 140, or at a push a 144 catchweight, to make it interesting

 

Oh ****, with those pix, it is pretty obvious Pac is a 140. He looks like a 2 week old cadaver.

Lol at the people complaining about the weight stipulation. You guys must hate Marquez...because your asking for him to get seriously hurt. The 2 wars between them were awesome YEAH, but this one is not going to be a war. It's going to be a brutal beatdown.
Manny has developed in to something remarkable since facing JMM. JMM has declined greatly. Manny has gotten a lot bigger, JMM has not. Manny has gotten faster or just as fast, and JMM has slown down.
It doesn't matter what weight...It mostly matters about where they are at in there careers, age, etc. JMM has a big mouth, and complains, but if anybody wishes at this point that JMM gets the fight, a chance for redemption, blah blah...They wish for him to get hurt.

 

Manny has become a better fighter at the higher weights and JMM has become less of a fighter. It is not an intriguing fight. JMM is not a great fighter. Floyd proved that

 

Cotto 2 is meaningless.
Bradley does not add anything but a unkwown name... PAC is elite he aint gonna give those young guys whithout a name...


If mayweather does not happen early 2011 why not just give it to marquez and hope for mayweather late 2011

Anyways no fight will add to his resume unless its williams-martinez-mayweather

so all these fights would be a tuneup for a possible mayweather clash..

and a marquez farewell fight is he owns kats

 

you got a point because I feel Marquez wonthe last fight and I'm a Marquez fan, but I don't think he can win anymore because of his age and if Pacquiao wins, it won't surprise me, but this is better than a fight with Mosley and it deosn't seem like they'll take on any of the light welterweights

 

Also I cant see JMM coming in at 135 hurting a solid 147 Pac at all. Pac has adjusted well and is as sturdy as they come at this weight, just ask the big WWs.

Juan Diaz was tagging JMM at 135 at an incredible rate and hes realistically a B level fighter.

 

So do I, enough is enough, if your going to fight the man, fight him at his weight.

 

about as much as seeing floyd beat on marquez at 147 or what ever the **** they weighed
