Who has the leverage here? Pac with his momentum and drawing power or Cotto with his insignificant belt? Cotto needs to wisen up before he blows an opportunity of a lifetime. :deal

Then if it's ANYTHING between 141-147 shouldn't Cotto be allowed to come in at the limit of 147!??! :patsch

It's been done before. Ray Leonard captured the 175lb title by defeating Lelonde at 168. That took place obviously a full division under the 175 limit so the circumstances were much more dramatic. If Cotto's not careful he's gonna blow a chance to fight a smaller man who will provide him with the biggest stage and the most money of his career. The opportunity is his to lose. :deal

Pac can come in at whatever weight, but if you're going to restrict the opponent from coming at whatever weight he wants as long as it's within the limit, then it's just an exhibition fight.

I ask this, as it has been ask before. Is Cotto the same fighter at 145 than he is at 147???

oh you mean he's draining hard just to make weight as it is? he should be fighting at a higher weight division then?

Actually its up to Manny....they already agreed on the terms and signed...

Now, they're bitching about something else !!!!!

What's next ? That Cotto has to come in with one hand tied behind his back !!!!

sigh. look up the welterweight definition people

and I mean the actual definition

not your interpretation of it ... as I don't think I've seen 141-147 as a part of Welterweight

look it up, then comment back.

If Pac wins either way then why make Cotto come in 2Ibs lighter, the max weight for WW is 147, so Cotto should be allowed to come in at that max if his belts o the line.

Pacquiao and Roach just want everything their own way.

nothings signed at all el capitan.

and it's cotto who will be missing the boat with his "i'll give up my belt rather than offer it for negotiation" bitching.

It's not a 147 belt. It's called the WBO Welterweight belt. Welterweight is between 141 and 147. 147 is the weight limit.

They are fighting in the WW division range 141-147 so the belt needs to be on the line.
