I guarantee you if Cotto beats Pacquiao, Cotto won't be in the top 3 or top 4 p4p. So again Whats Cotto getting out of this if he beats Pacquiao? I also guarantee you if Cotto beats Pacquiao, Cotto won't get the credit cause many will say Cotto beat a smaller fighter that started at 108 pounds blah blah blah.

LOL at everyone making this such a big deal....

Its so funny to me how fans, fighters and trainers are always saying how alphabet trinkets (which is what cottos belt is) is such a huge problem with boxing.... and yet completely whine and cry about when a fighter whos not even the champ of the division, is not putting his trinket on the line (that he has to pay fees to do so) at a catchweight fight....

    its absurd.

    it means nothing....

If this was mosley, for the true championship or ring belt... i would understand.

thats the whole idea with the 145 catchweight.

meeting pac in between will negate the cotto was too big argument, or cotto was too weak because he was 1 lb lower than he was weighing in at 146 vs. clottey. and while he wont be 3 or 4 p4p, that will be the start of his rise. the momentum will just pick up with another win.

now if cotto sticks to his guns and loses his belt at 147, i guarantee you it will be hatton thanking cotto the way david thanked hatton for overshadowing his most embarassing loss.

I'm with Cotto in this one. Pac and Co. are treating him like he is a bum or a nobody. They want to dictate everything, first a 2lb catch weight:nut, then we want the title or no fight.

They are also saying things like, Cotto is an easy fight but we won't step up to 147. I can't respect theur BS and think that even Cotto puts the title on the line, they still can't take it.

It still won't give Cotto credit if he wins. I bet you be one of the person that say if Cotto beats Pacquiao it's cause Cotto is too big. And then many *******s will follow along. Same with the media and boxing writers. And the p4p ranking won't mean that much to Cotto anyway cause he's still won't be in the top 2, top3, top 4 p4p. So in that sense his p4p ranking won't stack up at all.

Maybe just maybe if Roach realize that many media, fans, boxers pick Pacquiao to beat Cotto at 147 pounds, he might have faith this time to make the fight at 147 pounds.

You want the title come in as a full fledged welter not a Jr Welter.

Actually Pac, who last weighed in at 138 0n his last fight on May, wanted to fight him at 143 but Cotto (weighed 146 on his last fight in June) suggested 145, which is within the WW range of 141-147.

Your long term memory is shot, Pac and Roach were virtually given zero chance by almost everybody of beating DLH and they still took the fight!

Your long memory is shot cause Roach wanted Pacquiao to fight De la hoya cause 1 De la hoya couldn't pull the trigger anymore and 2, He knew De la hoya will be dehydrated in which Oscar will be very weak. Roach even admit after the fight.

Thats cause everybody was thinking about size different and not about how it will effect Oscar to move back down to 147 pounds in which prior to the Pacquiao fight, Oscar hasn't fought at 147 pounds in 8 years. I knew Something was wrong with Oscar prior to the fight cause i seen pictures of his training in which he look weak and very skinny.

So?, this doesn't change the fact that almost everyone had Oscar winning by early brutal KO and Manny going in as a huge underdog. Roach said that before the fight too and everyone laughed at him.

your right, it is very funny.

didn't Bob Arum say only a week or so ago that the "title is meaningless"

yet here we are with Team Pacquiao claiming they want the fight to be for the title or as Roach is quoted "don't need to fight Cotto for no belt"

so he can say that .. but later say "titles are pretty much worthless"

will be fun to see how this whole saga plays out

Again cause everybody only think about size different instead of how it will effect Oscar moving back down for the first time in 8 years. Did everybody thought Oscar will only weigh in at 147 pounds on fight night?
