Yup, and I wonder who brought it up first? Anyway, whether it's 14 days, 7 days or no cutoff, if he really wants to fight Pac, he should compromise. If I may ask you, isn't 7 days or 14 days enough? Also, please put in mind that there's a test right after the fight, so personally, I think 7 days is more than enough to prove that you're not juicing. Think about it.
When this fight was first negotiated almost 2 years ago, Mayweather offered a 14 day cutoff and was turned down. So if you think 7 days is a fair comprimise, then what do you think about Pacquiao turning down a 14 day cutoff? Furthermore, why does he need a cutoff date anyway? The USADA isn't trying to **** any of these guys over. They respect their training. Tests would be conducted after their training sessions are over(it takes the body less than an hr. to regenerate the blood). If the tests looked good, neither fighter would probably be tested within the week of the fight anyway.
I know little of the ins and outs of drug testing, so you could have a valid point. However, if Mosley and Ortiz don't have a problem with the blood testing thing - regardless of how pointless it may or may not be - why does Pac? I don't think he's cheating, but it doesn't make sense. Regarding the Pacquiao video another poster mentioned - that hardly cuts it, does it? What mainstream outlets picked up on that? Pac needs to speak out in no uncertain terms like Floyd recently did. Problem is, I don't think Pac is allowed to speak for himself. Therein lies one of the big problems in this whole situation. Anyway, I don't care who is or who isn't to blame. If this fight doesn't happen in 2012 they'll both have officially missed the boat for the biggest fight of all time. Dickheads.
This fight will happen, it has to, lots and lots of money to be made. When it does PBF to give a masterclass in the art of boxing.
how do you send a contract when they don't want to negotiate. remember the second round of negotiations, The HBO president himself admitted he was the go-between for the two camps but the mayweather camp lied and said it didn't happen. then he went away saying he has no urge and wanted a vacation.
Easy, you just fax it. You fax the contract proposal, and you let them know that the drug testing is no longer an issue. Mayweather claims that Pacquiao's side still wanted a cutoff date which is why negotiations never got serious again. Somebody's obviously lying here. If Pacquiao's side had something in writing stating that the testing was no longer an issue, we would know that they were telling the truth. As it stands, we're left guessing.
you don't have a clue. I can give you a lot of interviews both in internet/youtube-type and major press conferences where he had declared he wants to fight floyd. Floyd's recent interview saying he wants Pac absolutely isn't even significant at all, its just another of the many many statement thrown around to hype a fight.
what was there to negotiate if pac still wanted a cut off date? perhaps floyd's being stubborn as well but even if they negotiated other things, the drug testing still would have caused the fight to break down. cuz really, they've agreed on everything, the drug testing is the hold up...nothing else to negotiate
That doesn't mean anything. Both fighters have made claims in the past. The problem, clearly, is that someone is lying - or there's a third party reason for it not happening. Refer to my original post. There's not enough information available to determine who exactly is to blame, otherwise we wouldn't all still be arguing over this ****ing thing.
taking the test is by no means going to catch someone using PEDS, if they are serious about it then it has to be done in the offtime of a fighter, not days before a fight, that fact that you people keep harping about a ****ing cutoff date is ridiculous and it makes you look ignorant. Do your research before you comment on something you know very little about.
Any *****s who can tell me a kind of peds that will give you super power in 3-5 days than I will change my name to FloydIsTheBest...LOL
for someone keen on fighting pacquiao, floyd's not taking extra steps either in contacting pac's camp
If the only the thing holding up the fight is drug testing, why would Mayweather contact Pacquiao's camp unless his stance on the drug testing changed?
You *******s sound dumb as hell the point of RANDOM means both fighters will be tested and they wont know when they are tested period....And saying pac shouldnt have to bend over backwards is just dumb kuz im pretty sure FMJ bent over backwards accepting that $10 million per pound bs.....Same thing if floyd doesnt come in over weight he has nothing to worry about just like if pac isnt on anything he has nothing to worry about
He stated emmanuel's AZZ is next at his Ortiz presser. That's more than emmaneul ever does. What emmanuel has done is get an old sick man to speak for him, hire attorneys at laws to speak on his behalf regarding Floyd, and go onto national television admitting he would be fine if he gets to avoid Mayweather beating his AZZ due to his "legacy". He can't talk on his own and gets others to do it for him just like how you would get your girl to talk to me in your place.
