Catch weight should be at 144 not at 142 Roach is trying to gain an advantage in making an older fighter like Shane come down that low and we already know Cotto has been having problems at that weight as well./

If you want to fight Welters then fight them at 147. If you fight them at 142 they are no longer welters!!:patsch

Or it tells you that ODLH was the star and he called the shots, DLH was also at 154 therefore he did his part in moving down weight. ODLH was a chance to make crapload of money and walk into mainstream...Mosley or Cotto doesnt offer those same incentives therefore Pac calls the shots.

Not so much of "If Pac wants to fight the Welters", this is just Roach message to the welters, "If the welters want to fight Pac".

My paid off house, and my right nut says that if there is an upset on July 18th, the call to fight Welters at 142 lbs, will turn to "Manny is having a hard time even making 140 lbs....if JMM wants to fight us, he'll have to fight us at 147 lbs!":lol::lol::lol:

Pacman was having a hard time tryin to make weight at 130 since the MAB II fight but still drained himself to fight JMM II. Why would he do different at 140, when even Roach says its his best weight?

DLH was not a hand picked fight by Manny, it was a handpicked by DLH and it backfired horribly. Manny is not cherrypicking. I love how people now call Manny a cherrypicker because other guys call him out then he beats their asses. He didnt call anyone out, they all want him.

I reckon Mayweather could make 142lbs quite comfortably. However, if he were to agree to that weight, then Roach & Manny can forget about having any kind of parity over Floyd in respect of the purse split for such a fight!

Mosley would not be able to make that weight & I do not think Cotto would! Cotto seems like a guy who's daring, so I reckon he would try to make 142lbs. If he were to some-how make the weight, he would be severely drained & would gain alot of weight from weigh-in to fight time!

Roach being adamant about 142lbs just shows you that he must have thought Oscar was shot at Welter. Smart in a way!

As for Manny retiring in two fights - it won't happen, especially if Manny wins both! This guy is at his peak & he gives enomous amounts of money to charity & his people, so he may even need to box on more for financial reasons!

Dont turn a blind eye and ignore facts....Pac and Roach were making all kinds of excuses as to why they were going to fight David Diaz bef.ore the JMM-Pac rematch
There cry was that Pac could'nt make 130 lbs any longer.....
.....when JMM publicly stated that it would'nt be a problem for him for the fight to take place at 135 lbs, all of a sudden Pac was cornered......

Bottom line it was Pac's choice to have the rematch take place at 130 lbs as JMM was more than willing to have it take place at 135 lbs.....

.......:lol::lol:now the cry from the *******s is that Pac was weight drained for his JMM rematch!:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl

The Pac team sings familiar tunes my friend....they make all kinds of stipulations for fighters who want to fight Pac.....but for JMM, the rules change.:yep

....and not that I blame Roach, I'd do exactly as he's doing right now in his avoidance to prolong the wait for a JMM fight.....obviously anyone with any sense knows that JMM is Pac's kryptonite!:yep

Roach is saying what he has to here. Their primary objective is to get Mayweather at a catchweight; it's going to be a tough sell to get Floyd to agree to that.

Being the negotiator that he is, you're not going to slip anything by Floyd that he won't pick up on. It's crucial to their chances of getting a 142 Mayweather fight to happen that Team Pac doesn't appear eager to fight Mosley or Cotto at 147. As soon as Roach says they'll fight any of them at 147, nobody's going to want to be the one to jump at the prospect of potentially draining themselves for 142- it'd be difficult on Cotto and Mosley, and Floyd just doesn't want to. Floyd would also say "you're willing to go to 147 for Shane and Miguel, why not me?". It just hurts Pacquiao's bargaining position.
