What time you do your roadwork? Is it better to do morning, afternoon, or evening? If you do it at 4-5 AM, what time do you go to bed?

There is no "better" time, just get it done any time you can/want to.

There may be a very slight difference in hormone levels morning compared to night, but overall it isn't going to make a noticeable difference.

Comes down to personal preference, I used to get up early because I felt like that champ running around at 6am when nobody is up yet and it's misty, so for some people it's a psychological thing.

I know I wouldn't run at the same intensity in the morning if I've just woken up and so wouldn't get as much benefit as I would if I ran in the afternoon.

weekly roadwork means im up at 5 am and out the door by 20 past mainly because it fits in with my lifestyle as I work long day shifts
on a weekend im still out early but give myself more time to wake up before I hit the road
I actually get more benefit running first thing than I do in the afternoon/evening
so like light-welter says its down to personal preference so try different times and see how you feel
one thing I will say is if you are going to do a 5 am run then make sure you are hydrated the day before and lay everything out ready for when you get up

I'm a third shift type of person so I'll run late at night.
Town shuts down after 2AM, then I'm king of the city!

If you guys do roadwork in the morning, do you go without breakfast and eat after?
Also, how are you guys able to wake up at 5? I've done it a few times and loved it but now I have such a hard time waking up. Maybe I should try to get 8 hours in.

Getting up at 5 would just come down to discipline. If you want to be the best, train like the best. Plan your life around your goals, not vice versa.

I personally eat after. I'm working on a better diet, but I always eat healthier after a workout

Just spend more time honing your craft instead.

Roadwork is good for the mind and it helps with weight management.
I do mine when the weather is not too hot or cold. Running under direct sunlight is just unnecessary punishment just like using a sauna suit or w/e.

I used to run at night when I was in fulltime training but that suited me then. I now work long days so go a run a 5 in morning. Its just down to preference, eat before or after again its just preference. Everybody body is diffrent so things that would work for 1 might not work for another. Just make sure do roadwork DAILY. :-D ;-)

I run almost exclusively on the treadmill so that i can control the pace and duration. I run around 2 hours after I wake up and eat afterwards.
