he'l improve him for sure and i think hes got a good bit of that ahead of him, footwork punch technique and defence possibly the most important thing is to get in shape. i just watched a few fights from the 90's featuring tyson holyfield ibeabuchi tua lewis etc and apart from being huge men they were all in fantastic physical shape. being built properly and with a great engine is something that in this current heavyweight scene can make you go a long long way
I'm hoping Rob disciplines Fury. The relationship between Rob and Froch seems to quite simple. In the sense that Rob tells Froch what to do and Froch does it. Froch can motivate himself and details each press-up and grain of rice he eats. Where as Fury seems to be the complete opposite and might need a lot of motivation off Rob to get into shape. He needs to start working that jab more, he doesn't realise how important it is for him. He just seems to think he can fight like a guy half his size.
wrong style and mentality of trainer for Fury, I think the advise that Mccracken gives froch is sound and they're a good combination, but it wouldn't be what i'd be telling Fury, most trainers have a set way, mentality of approaching a fight and method and apply it to all their fighters, McCracken strikes me as one of those, that'll work for some but not for others. wrong choice for me.
He needs to realise that instead of just putting it ' out there '. If he worked on it, got a nice quick, snap jab with some power behind it. He'd have one of the pieces that could take him to the world scene. His chin looks good.
I think Rob might be a little bit of a yes man. Often his fighters don't listen to him. Froch improved but only on his own terms.
i disagree i think Froch listens to him, they seem to have a good connection plus he gives Froch sound advise in the corner, listen to the corner work in the taylor fight, he gave perfect instruction for what Froch should be doing I think McCracken played a part in Froch getting the Late stoppage, McCracken was calm, gave him confidence and didn't panick all traits Froch showed in the fight.
Ive never read such a load of bull. McCracken may not be an 'in your face' kind of trainer, but nobody f**ks with him. McCracken is likely the only reason he is still with Hennessy. Rob is a calm head amongst often stressful situations.
IMHO it's a potentially good combination. To me Fury seems eager to learn and progress. He wants to fight and do well. McCracken has a lot of respect in many circles, I think Tyson will listen to him.
