More and more, the response to Haye not accepting the Klitschkos’ terms is like a mass of women wailing. Get a grip, please.

While I’d like to see the fight, I respect Haye for not caving into the brothers’ demands. It’s not his fault that K2 has a deal with RTL already. Haye’s compromise was entirely fair – if we can’t negotiate the TV network for Germany and maximise the money, then I’ll keep the UK money. Why do you think K2 weren’t so keen on that? Because they knew they’d make more money because of Haye’s deal with Sky than if it was off the table. If they weren’t prepared to negotiate on that, then the deal was not 50-50 by any legal definition (I even asked the legal team sitting in my office, just to be sure).

Either way, I agree with Bunce. Bunce, when he’s a columnist in BM or on his own shows, is biased and wears his bias on his sleeve. When he writes for The Independent, he becomes a journalist. He always gives both sides a right of reply and he never publishes what he KNOWS to be false.

Wlad offered 50-50 with no options! It's Haye's demands that are unreasonable.

The german tv deal Klitskcos has is worth 3million euros. The max there going to get from another channel is 4million euros. Haye is letting around 5% off his purse stop the fight.

Also Hayes team new Klitsckos couldnt break the deal. They could have offerd Klitsckos 90% with the german tv not on RTL and they wouldnt be able to accept the fight.

i'm going to be pedantic and point out, that is exactly what makes it 50-50 as they are putting all of the money (purses, live gate, tv revenue) into one pot and splitting it 50-50.

If Hayemakers suggestion about the TV money had been agreed, then it wouldn't have been 50-50 it would have been more like 53-47 towards Haye

ive spoken to so many boxing fans that all got into it just because of the calzaghe/lacy fight, seems that really was a bit of a turning point for the sport and also what with it being on itv 1 at the time.

i can remember having plenty of good banter with others over on bbc 606 at the time, did'nt even know about eastside back then.

I seem to be getting a bit of criticism for not liking Bunce. Maybe because he posts on Eastside people like him. I post on another forum and Bunce is pretty much ridiculed for his clown antics..

To me he is a ham and a complete self publicist. His comments are never as transparent and "telling it like it is" as he proclaims.

The comments I have heard about Bunce are basically its good to have a boxing show but there has to be someone better than Bunce.

To be honest I am a little taken aback by Bunce's popularity on this borad.

EXACTLY...If the money is being divided up 50/50 then its a 50/50 offer.

Why's this so hard for some to understand?

Is this like the defects thread? What a load of old tosh on here. This is like something from about 2002. Look back over the posts - it's a sham. This thread could convince a sensible boxing fan - one who started to watch the sport before 2005! - to walk away from the forum. This is disturbing nonsense, bottom-feeding shite.

    Adios.

    Yup I agree with this.

I think most ppl on here would agree that Bunce is good for boxing. Did he go off on 1 last night, yeah probably. Is that why we all love him, yeah probably!

I'm the thread starter buncey and to be honest it started off as a laugh m8. Then people started getting really involved in it and a little carried away.

I didn't start this thread to have a pop at you or rob. It was more of a discussion on Haye/wlad.

Haye not fighting Klitschko could make people walk away from boxing.

Haye is ducking Wlad so he can milk the WBA belt. He would have signed to fight Audley by now if there hadn't been a fan backlash.

Frank Maloney is right in his comments that there is a window of popularity where a fighter needs to cement his place in the public imagination. Haye having one fight a year against inferior opposition isn't going to do that.

Haye had the British public in his hand but he is losing that support rapidly. The Americans........well you know what they think.
