So now your discrediting me as a boxing fan because I only started following the sport properly 5 years ago. Thats what I call tosh. Why don't you go and ask Ronnie O'Sullivan and 20 members of the general public you care so much about if they listened to your William Hill podcast last week? Did Ronnie O'Sullivan write a letter to 5 tv stations when the setanta show went under. Did Ronnie O'Sullivan and the general public send 5 texts into your show which all got read out last night and do the same thing week in week out from the setanta days? Did Ronnie O'Sullian stay up until 5 in the morning watching Tim Braldey vs Edner Cherry? Did Ronnie O'Sullivan and the general public go show up at two of your live shows. Did Ronnie O'Sullian go to the York Hall for Fragomeni, did he have flights booked to germany on june 20th 2009? Did you ask those 20 people who James Murray, Bradley Stone or Michael Watson were??? These are not facts by the way....it's a rant!!! I actually listend to the show for the first time 5 minutes ago. bringing up Michael Watson i was taken aback. The man didn't make 5% of what Haye would recieve from the Klitscko offer. You cannot compare the two. Bunce has always prone to being a bit of a twat. And nearly always it seems to guys who dont deserve it - ask Andy Kerr.
If you're going to be pedantic, at least try to be right. If all terms are not available to be negotiated, it can not be a 50-50 split. It's the same as having a favoured nations clause.
If Wlad gave in to Haye and let him keep all UK tv money would it be a 50-50 split? Or would Haye get more than 50%? Your argument makes no sense. 50-50 means that all sources of revenue are put into the pot with each fighter getting an equal share, Haye wasn't satisfied with that, what's so hard to get about this?
If the argument is whether Haye should have taken a "loss", then I totally agree with Rob. Haye agreed to worse terms when he agreed to fight WALDO first time around and whilst the situation has changed somewhat, Haye could end up missing out on a massive payday and have to fight a string of subpar opposition and do his reputation and public opinion no good. Haye is fast losing popularity and I have lost patience with him. I have defended him to the hilt (mainly against ****ish General Forum comments) but I agree he is way too quiet and is doing himself no favours. If he fights and beats WALD then he is in the driving seat and can call the shots as unified champion. If he goes down fighting then great, he can still bounce back. To question how Haye's family would feel if Haye could no longer box and didn't earn as much as he could have is just stupid. The guy is minted and would still earn a fair wage against a Klitschko. He has said that he wants the big fights and he is here to clean up, but after Ruiz he has lost all momentum. Hopefully he pulls out a decent fight next, even if it is not a Klitschko. As for Bunce, I don't understand his popularity. Whilst he is trying to promote the sport his antics on Setanta were cringeworthy and he talks an unholy amount of shite. Bunce, you think that people reading the forum would turn them away from boxing? Get a grip. It would turn them away from the forum but not boxing.
50-50 is MORE than just the split of money. 50-50 also refers to the terms of negotiation. That is NOT a complicated concept.
come on mate whether its 50-50 or 47-53 who gives a ****. If Haye wanted the fight he would of signed up. Simple as that.
As you know Rob I cant stand your over the top shameless Barker nuthugging:deal But your right on this one...... Much like you i had flights and tickets for Haye Klitschko I ended up going anyway but I was gutted about it..... GUTTED
I think I was genuinley pissed of as I was convinced Haye could win. and the reason for that is i thought Haye was convinced to. No i think Haye knows its a loss.
