Funnily enough it is usually the same fools claiming this who also claim the cheating, fouling Hopkins beat Calzaghe.:rofl And in both instances these people are a joke.
I thought you were joking Clownshoes... If you weren't I'd be happy to tool you on the subject. If need be, let's post our scorecards in a new thread and see what the consensus of the "noobs" on the site say. I mean, since anybody that thinks Pea won is a noob according to you. IF you were joking, my is for your joke and you in general for the **** poor attempt
Almost all fights imo. Robbery gets thrown around to much as far as I'm concerned. If a fight has 7 close rounds it isn't a robbery at all.
A, did you see the whole fight? I was under the impression the whole fight doesnt exist nowadays. I fully understand your sentiment regarding the radio broadcast and then seeing the fight as i listened to tyson/bruno1 on bbc radio and i thought bruno had tyson punched around the ring to listen to the commentator. Obviously when i watched it the next day it was a completely different story
Very few fights I genuinely disagree with. Williams v Lara was ridiculous. In terms or title fights, Pac v Bradley 1 was ridiculous. But neither were top dog so it wasn't a championship fight. Can't think of many championship blatant robberies were the wrong man walked away with the championship.
I hear a lot of people claim that Peterson-Khan was a "hometown robbery". Puh-lease. The controversy is the PED use. Peterson consistently landed nice bodyshots, landed lots of good clean shots, and was effectively aggressive. Khan did land his share of good clean shots himself, not strictly his inaccurate sloppy arm-flurries, but this was miles away from a "robbery". 2 points for pushing is rather excessive, even if Khan was doing it repeatedly, but Khan got an extra point in the first when he pushed a slipping Peterson down and got awarded a KD. So Peterson got one extra point. Khan would have to win 7 rounds clearly for it to be a robbery. The scoring was fair, Peterson won more rounds with his clean punching and effective aggression.
Overblown robberies: Zarate-Pintor DlH/Whitaker DlH/Quartey Holmes/Witherspoon Hopkins/Taylor Ottke/Johnson Leonard/Hagler
I don't know the last two times I watched it I couldn't score it for Pedersen and I do not like Khan I thought the first point was perfectly fine, he was warned numerous times and told final warning. The push he did that got the point taken was more of a forearm elbow than say a push with his glove The second point for the push was kind of weak but he had been warned a lot The problems I have with the Pedersen victory are I don't think he won enough rounds even with the docking of 2 points and he landed a lot of low blows that were not called. I'd say the fight was razor close but I don't have enough rounds for Pedersen
Pintor-Zarate: perhaps the biggest mythical robbery of all Pacquiao-Marquez III Ali-Young: the Young advocates never mention the leaning through the ropes, or the count Young received for it which was scored a knockdown Ali-Norton III: Dull, boring fight that was a pain to score and ended up very close on the cards. Norton had very odd ideas about how his gameplan would be scored. Norton probably deserved a close win but losing 7-8 is reasonable. DLH-Whitaker: absolutely correct decision Valuev-Holyfield: Holyfield spent 90% of the fight running and getting jabbed to the chest
The first 7 rounds of DLH-Trinidad are so easy to score. I don't see how you can give Trinidad any of them. All he did was follow DLH around and eat right hands.
Trinidad enjoyed a fair amount of success in the latter portion of the 4th, and I gave him the stanza. And, as I recall, the 6th was close enough where a nod to Tito wouldn't have been completely out of order. Those were the only two out of the first eight that could be given to Trinidad. That said, tough to come up with anything less than a 7-5 score for DLH.
I've scored it several times and generally I think 1-7 are a lock for DLH, 8 solidly for him, 9th debatable.
