Leonard vs Hagler. I haven't watched it in a while but I've had Leonard by 2-3 points whenever I watched in the past.

The next week on HBO I rescored it and had DLH 115-113. I still have it that way or 114-114. Many saw this as a robbery but I don't think it was. It could have gone either way and 115-113 or 115-114 Tito is not that far fetched.

Good call. Vito sure has not stood the test of time too well. I went to a few of his pre--Hagler fights and he was one tough hombre. Like you said---more of a Gene Fullmer type style and > Ali influence, that style was no longer loved. Not that Marvin was flashy--just a lot more mechanical back then.

But Marvin lost a lot of rounds. A lot. When Hagler did not have his A+ game, he doesn't drop to A. More like B-. This and the Geraldo fight and there were just some styles that just did not suit him like the come forward sluggers did. What a chin that Vito had---he got hit on the button and ate a few combos that just did not have a big effect. And when hit, he sure does not go into a shell--he fires back immediately. I'm sure Marvin would have liked him to acknowledge the shots and do nothing but pose. Vito just did not fight that way.

Though it was a crappy announcing job as well---and we had them back then. And since. So hardly an unusual circumstance itself.

The thing about that fight is I always thought Hagler wasnt agressive enough early, I think I gave the first 4 rounds to Leonard, and Hagler just ran out of rounds, If it was a 15 round fight, I would probably scored it for Hagler.

 

Oh I scored Camacho-Rosario 115-114 for Camacho. Many specially in Puerto Rico, felt that Rosario got robbed.

That is yet another De La Hoya-Trinidad, Leonard-Hagler right there!

Mayweather-Castillo 1.

Mayweather takes the first five on my card; along with the 8th and 11th. Also should have been credited with the KD in the second, since the foot contact didn't look that egregious. Fact is, Castillo only got untracked with 30 seconds remaining in the fifth and allowed FMJ to take the play away from him in 8th, and, imo, in the 11th, too. Upon rewatch, Mayweather's got a pretty decent case for taking the 12th, too due to landing the cleaner punches in that frame.

I call it 114-112 Mayweather, but that 115-111 scorecard isn't that farfetched.

The first Holyfield vs Lewis fight which ended up as a draw. Yeah I had Lewis winning that but not by so much as having a draw being a blatant robbery. In fact the second fight I thought you could have scored that as a draw or even Holyfield edging it but such were the cries of robbery after the first fight that Lewis was always going to get the decision if it went the distance
