Should of earned with Hearn, can't support Ramirez now. Some people tell me that I can't support a media group or a promoter but that's a lie, I'm a devoted follower of Edward Hearn and Sky Sports.

Who said he's better? I didn't and I don't think he is either. It's just a bit of trivia I stumbled across the other day when I was doing a bit of research on Ivan B and it's a surprising result given Ramirez's outstanding amateur credentials and Ivan B's style which is much more suited to the pros than the amateurs and it was a long time ago too. I was surprised to discover he'd won a gold medal in the worlds, too (albeit the Juniors). Ivan would likely spark Ramirez out now though but only because of size and power. Boxrec has Ramirez listed as a bantamweight.
I'm not saying you're saying he's better Serge! Just curious about your opinion on who the better talent is with the brighter future, Taylor or Ramirez. There sure are some weird ass results in the amateurs.
lol Oh OK.. my bad I don't know that's a tough one. On paper you'd assume Ramirez given his track record and accomplishments in the amateurs. However, some great ams turn out to be busts in the pros or only go on to achieve a fraction of the success they had in the amateurs. I am a big fan of amateur boxing and I do tend to side with amateur pedigree though and I think he'll do really well in the pros. But I obviously also rate JT highly and I expect him to do really well too. Ramirez could probably become a multi-weight champion, like three-weight, whereas JT could probably only go up as high as 147.
Im surprised this hasn't gotten more attention here. They've managed to get one of the superstar Cubans while they're still young. This guy could be P4P Gold. Lots of fights hwe could be involved with at TR over the next few years, Conlon, Stevenson, Warrington, even Loma if he moves back down to 130. I imagine with his credentials and his WSB experience, he'll be moved quickly

The signing of Ramirez, one of the most sought-after amateur boxers in the world, comes nearly one year after he abandoned the Cuban national team during a training camp last July in Aguascalientes, Mexico. He eventually defected in pursuit of freedom and a professional career. "What a gift to sign a two-time Olympic gold medalist like Robeisy Ramirez," said Top Rank chairman Bob Arum, who held a ceremonial signing with Ramirez on Friday afternoon in Kissimmee, Florida. "The last two-time gold medalist that we signed out of the amateurs, Vasiliy Lomachenko, has become a big star. We anticipate the same from Robeisy." Ramirez will campaign professionally as a featherweight, Arum said. "He is truly a special talent, and he has what it takes to get to the top of the featherweight division in short order," Arum said. Ramirez's professional debut has not yet been scheduled, but Top Rank said it would take place this summer on a Top Rank on ESPN undercard. Ramirez, 25, won the 2012 flyweight Olympic gold medal in London and the 2016 bantamweight Olympic gold medal in Rio de Janeiro, where he narrowly outpointed American Shakur Stevenson, a fellow southpaw and current undefeated Top Rank top prospect. "I am thrilled to begin my professional career with Top Rank. This moment is the result of all the hard work, dedication and sacrifice I have made since my days as an amateur boxer in Cuba," Ramirez said. Ramirez racked up numerous other accolades as an amateur in addition to his Olympic gold medals -- winning gold at the 2011 and 2013 Pan American Games, the 2014 Central American and Caribbean Games, the 2010 Youth Olympic Games and the 2010 Youth World Boxing Championships. Ramirez also won his weight class in the Cuban national amateur championships in 2011, 2012, 2014, 2015 and 2017. During the 2012 Olympics, Ramirez rolled past three opponents who have gone on to become top professional prospects in Tugstsogt Nyambayar (in the final), Michael Conlan (semifinals) and Andrew Selby (quarterfinals).
