Nothing shocking about it.Most judges get the position through favors or connections like any job. Thats the problem...And refs should also be appointed through negotiations where both parties/camps agree .And from other regions where no fishy business or less can happen. Refs/judges should really be rotated in shifts so they dont know what fight they are reffing and are scheduled to specific fights in different regions .Power has to be taken out of promotions hands just like the governing bodies look into ped use and other things. judges arent always fight fans either or like boxing..thats also a myth,many get hired who couldnt tell a jab from a hook...lol The MMA aspect too,though they have less agendas but refs are appointed by the boxing athletic commision,which has really screwed uup the sports scoring.since most are incompetant and dont know what they are scoring ina much more complicated combat sport to score. Honestly MMA refs should be scoring these fights.
