Actually Roberto made his pro debut at 119 pounds, and one of his better wins against a great fighter in Ernesto Marcel, was at 130.

Floyd is for sure the best of this era and a future ATG, but head to head against a prime duran he losses every time. That's nothing to be ashamed about.

Yes he quite once out of 119 fights over 5 decades.

if you want to define him by that one fight be my guest. But then don't call me a fvking hater, when you're the one doing the hating.

The man is largely remembered for No Mas the biggest quit job in the history of the sport.:deal It has been talked about for decades am I making this up? Or is that not true? It would be like if PBF rematched Pac and in the rematch PBF quit he would get ****ed on and rightfully so especially if he had no injury like Duran.

Well if that's true than why does virtually every boxing expert there is rate Duran an all time p4p top 10 fighter?

It's really only the kids who come up with **** like this, certainly one would expect a so called boxing fan to have a better perspective of things.

The posters who watched Duran's whole career are much better at putting his highs and lows into perspective.

What's going to be interesting is there's a movie coming out next year on Duran's career which should be interesting. De Niro is playing Arcel. Back in the day, De Niro, Pacino, and Stallone were all huge fan's of Duran.

In fact Stallone was one of the fans at the Davey Moore fight standing up yelling at the ref to stop the fight.

Because most of them love his machismo they love Duran and to them he can no wrong. They always act like his wins are the best thing in the history of the sport and no fighter ever could beat a peak Duran and have nothing but excuses in his losses like he didn't train hard or something like that. You can't have it both ways. Erik Morales will get the similar treatment down the road just watch.

So you're saying that collectively all the experts have been brainwashed is that your position?

I think most of the experts rate Duran first at lightweight, and then factor his other accomplishments into the mix. As a lightweight, yes, there are boxing experts who think he was the best ever at that weight.

Dundee, and Lederman are two of those experts and Lederman judged the first De Jesus fight in which Duran lost, so he would be in a great position to judge his abilities, as would Dundee who had an up close view of Duran while he was fighting SRL.

And yes, the experts also factor the No Mas fight and other bad performances into the equation as well.

Duran was 5' 7 and moved up in weight to fight much bigger men like Barkley, Moore, hagler and hearns. Mayweather is one inch taller and was afraid to fight a midget flyweight at 5'5 paquiao in his prime....GTFO telling Duran knows nothing about boxing... He's got cajones ....maywether would never fight ggg or ward.

Floyd moved up in weight too. Floyd has a win over a lineal middleweight champ. Duran only ever lost to one.

Floyd also never quit in the ring after being schooled like Duran did.

It is one occasion; one fight in Boxing's broad and deep history.

The reason for Duran's uncharacteristic action has been the topic of much debate, for sure but, as much as it was a shock to Boxing, the 'No mas' return with Leonard was and has continued to be over-exploited to mythological proportions.

Each to one's own when it comes to reasoning that one out but Duran is and always will be better remembered for being the greatest lightweight of all time and for being the first man to beat SRL, against the odds.
