He quit. It's one moment but it is a DEFINING MOMENT. Because NO OTHER ATG has QUIT like he did.

Duran gets credit for losing 3 fights, and quitting. Yet Floyd can't hold a handle to him.

If, by "defining moment", you mean that one event defines Duran's entire career then you can syfh all you like and remain hellbent on discrediting him to your heart's content.

I know where I stand on the matter; as does many a Boxing historian - consensus Top-Ten Pound-for-Pound ATG.

As such, Duran can say what he likes; in much the same way he did while he was active.

By the way, I didn't mention Mayweather in the post you responded to but, since you imply a comparison between him and Duran, I have no problem with ranking Duran above Mayweather.

Duran is a top 10 ATG.

No fighter in the past 2 decades comes remotely close to being top 10 ATG.

There is absolutely no comparison or should there be between Duran and Floyd. Duran started as a pro much lighter than Floyd and fought much better fighters than Floyd ever did and much bigger ones too. After 147 Duran wasn't even supposed to have a chance yet he was Hattoning everyone left and right. Everyone who knows about "No Mas" know that the controversial loss had to do more about Duran than it did Leonard cuz Duran wasn't just pressuring the great boxer, he was outboxing the master boxer at times too. That's why the majority don't buy Leonard changing tactic to strictly dancing around Duran. It had to do more with Duran not wanting to go after Leonard like he did in the first fight, that's why SRL never really got the full credit of that win and it bothers him as much as "No Mas" bothered Duran. It's on 30 for 30 look it up.

No he wasn't much lighter than Floyd. And you're wrong about 72-1 Duran not having a chance against Sugar foh. And yeah Leonard not trading with Duran had everything to do with Sugar. Sugar couldn't beat Duran at Durans game.

Duran couldn't raise his intensity up for another superfight because Leonard decided to move. If he could've then he wouldn't have quit foh. Sugar gets full credit for the win. Why didn't Duran go after Leonard in the rematch? You have a bunch of assumptions and that's about it.

Why would anyone be jealous of someone else. Unless you're younger than 25 you learn that you get out of life exactly what you put into it.

But having watched both their careers, Duran is clearly the better fighter. That assessment isn't based on jealously rather it's based on watching boxing for 40+ years and arriving at an educated opinion and the vast majority old enough to have followed both of their careers have arrived at the same conclusion.

Duran would take PBF to the cleaners.
Hagler would take him to the morgue.
