Really says something that he managed to come in 5 lbs lighter for a random bum fight in his home country than his previous fight which was the biggest fight of his career.

Both are long & lean southpaws. Both a bit loosey-goosey with their shots. Lots of nervous energy in a close 1st, pattycake with the jab.

Turns out Juusti (nicknamed "Tiikeri", or "Tiger") actually is a switch-hitter. Boxing orthodox gains him a tiny bit more success - if not in landing his own stuff, at least making him less vulnerable to Kärkkäinen's right hook on the inside.

Not much in either round so far. Neither is very accurate, nor are they setting the roof on fire with their pace.

    Fight has been pretty whack.

Devolved down the stretch into lots of circling, posing, and noodling jabs at each other, with Kärkkäinen in a lefty Philly shell, and lots of scuffling into clinches whenever either opened up.

Most consisent shot of the day has been Kärkkäinen's swatting right hook.

Ugly spar between guys with poor technique who barely even clench their fists when firing.

Entering the sixth round, the crowd is oddly fired up. Guess they have some affinity for one guy or both.

Pretty big gulf in experience...Kärkkäinen is 17-1 (7) and coming off probably a career best victory, a ten round shutout over a washed Serhiy Demchenko. Juusti comes in just 2-0, my hunch is that he was a top amateur to be thrown in the deep end quickly - and yep, a perfunctory search reveals that he was Finnish national champ.

Kärkkäinen decision, crowd goes wild. I can't speak to whether or not that's a rightful outcome as the fight really didn't hold my interest. The one person I can find on Twitter scoring along live, however, was a Finn named Sami Rautanen who actually had it a shutout for Juusti. :sherlock:

"Rayito" Sánchez is a Spanish born Helsinki resident, coming off his first professional loss in a bid for the WBC international Silver title. He's being fed a Georgian tomato can in "Star" Gigolashvili.
