Robert Garcia has done a pretty good job with Maidana.

Hes doing well for sure. He's still a little raw but looks more polished.

Soto is "relentless" with his work to the body.

Soto lookin a lot like a young Margarito.....but Marcos crushed him at the end of the last round. A round he was winning.

Marcos did a good job.....but I was worried for a little bit.....He was tired...moving a little too much and I believe was hurt to the body at some point by Soto....if he didn't land the straight right to get that KD I think Soto would've pulled that one out!.

maidana is still rough, very rough round the edges... but garcia has added some more thought behind his plodding style. he counters well now and is using the jab - seems like he's really listened to what garcia has taught him

I think Soto was throwing too much to too little effect. I think Maidana would have been stronger than him in the later rounds.

Over! Marcos landed a bunch of flush, unanswered punches on Soto and the fight was stopped. Great fight though.....I thought Marcos was on his way to a loss becuase he was holding alot, his work rate was going down and was fighting off his back foot.

Shows the impact a trainer can have on a fighter, as long as that fighter has some athletic ability/skills and is willing to learn.

And to his credit, Maidana didn't (rarely) reverted back to the wild swings/haymaker style.

I don't know.....Marcos was spent and Soto was banging away at the body of Miadana constantly.... I've never seen Marcos hold and back up as much as he did tonight.....but he was working on some new dimensions, obviously....I just think Soto took some of the steam out of Marcos.

Great improvement. Seems like Maidana had trouble with a pressure fighter.
