I doubt he's going to come close to hurting Floyd.

Marcos isn't nearly explosive enough to catch Floyd clean, anything he will "land" will be those punches where Floyd is on the ropes slipping most of the "landed" stuff.

Maidana is going to get tooled pretty good, Floyd Mayweather isn't no spring chicken, like Roberto Duran said. :smoke

Maidana was 10+lbs heavier vs. Broner than Floyd was vs Canelo. He has a way stronger core than Floyd.

    Based on what?

Floyd has a very athletic build, Marcos not so much.

Maidana still looks soft to me at 147. Mayweather is probably much stronger than Maidana at 147.

Athletic, sure. But he is not a very powerful welter.

Maidana is much stronger and much much more sturdy than Floyd. This fight is going to surprise a lot of people, its going to be a closer fight than any of Floyd last several.

Not going to pick Maidana to win, but its going to be Floyd toughest fight in years. If Maidana just worries about making contact, and not landing clean he might even pull off an upset.

I dont usually even bother to buy Floyd fights since im not really a fan of his and dont expect him to lose, but I will probably buy this one because I think its going to surprise a lot of people with how relatively interesting it is compared to Canelo, Ghost, etc

Maybe occasionally, but I think Floyd would rather move and reset than throw uppercuts.

I think Maidana's best chance is to come in with his head down, move quickly (as he can) to close the distance, and bob and weave.

But as he bobs and weaves, he has to go foward.

There is no other way for him to even get close to winning. His footspeed isn't very fast and he certainly can't outbox Floyd.

If he stands too upright, Floyd will jab his body to death.

He has to come in with his head down and risk the uppercuts. The reason why I say he needs to put his head down is because I can't envision him doing anything else when he bobs and weaves.

If he can explode when Mayweather is throwing an uppercut, Maidana might be lucky enough to land a hook.

If there's one thing I can guarantee, it's that Maidana won't throw close to 100 punches a round. Floyd just won't be in punching range for him to throw even half of that. Maidana will be getting turned, kept off balance and and time he sets himself to throw a power-shot, Floyd will either be gone or will have countered him.

I like Maidana (beating Broner will forever have my admiration) but he's not winning a round of this fight.

madona was shut out by arantxander and went life and death with 89yr old morales.

biggest win as against a guy maliggnangi easily outboxed.

    pedjr vs. another bum-of-the-month.

Yeah, he'd be lucky to even land on arms and shoulders. It's going to be a blowout. Floyd will be in real time and Maidana will be in slow motion, or so it will appear to the viewers.

Maidana won't throw 100 punches per round...he'll be to busy getting countered every time he tries to land. Look I'm no Floyd fanboy....but the guy just beat Canelo, who IMO is a better fighter in pretty much all facets of the game (and bigger) than Maidana....before that he beat Cotto, who IMO is a more dangerous opponent than Maidan. Everyone thinks Maidana is going to manhandle Floyd the same way he did against Broner...but guess what....Floyd ain't Broner! Say what you want about Floyd, he doesn't take his opponents lightly and he trains his ass off. Broner is a clown...a wannabe...I think Floyd is going to have extra motivation coming into this fight to prove to the boxing world that he is often imitated, never duplicated.

I think we will see that in hindsight Canelo and The Ghost were closer, more interesting fights. I can't see Maidana even remotely winning a single round, but we shall see. Well, I won't see because there's no reason to buy such a lopsided fight, but everyone who buys it will see.

    Cotto couldn't do it
    Canelo didn't try it

Maidana shouldn't be able to do it...

    :rofl
Maidana will be immediately DQ'ed at the slightest intent of roughing floyd up. He will not be able to get within FLoyd's arm reach without the ref separating them.

"but, anything is possible":patsch Not in this case.
