Satanist rule this earth but it's the wrong side. Hope you know about saturnalia and how Jesus was really born on 9/11.

No way, not even the version of Cotto that lost to Ali. Sadam Ali is being seriously underrated around here, the kid has some serious talent and skills. HE was rocking Cotto because he was a naturally bigger and bigger framed guy and he was also significantly faster. It doesn't matter what anyone's KO% is or how hard they punch, if a boxer is BIGGER and FASTER than their opponent, the opponent will get buzzed even when they block shots.

Cotto is MUCH bigger than Mikey Garcia and a very skilled fighter. Cotto has close to as much skill as Garcia if not more and he's the naturally MUCH bigger fighter here. They are so evenly matched in skill that they cancel each other out, neither has a significant speed advantage over the other so they cancel out too. All that's really left is size and strength which are disproportionately in Cotto's corner, and I'd bet the farm on it that he would exploit that advantage to a stoppage victory.

Also, Cotto was a flat-out GAMER. He BROUGHT IT when he stepped in the ring and never stopped trying to win. I love Garcia as a boxer and think he's a legit top 3-5 p4p fighter - maybe even #1 someday - if he has the required mental state. But I just can't shake that Salido fight out of my mind. Garcia dominated but in the weirdest and sickest way looked unbelievably vulnerable, fragile, and on the verge of implosion without really even taking a significant shot off Salido. He looked all those things - to me - solely because Salido wouldn't stay down or stop trying to kick his ass. Never seen anything like it before, or if I have I can't recall it. He's definitely without question truly elite skill and talent wise though.

I like Mikey and I’ve liked Grandpa Garcia as a fighter. However, I’m starting to lose patience with the Garcias, mainly Robert, always running his mouth about fights he blocks from happening. Instead of talking about the entire boxing landscape from 130 to 154, he should zero his focus in on 135.

Mikey becomes a bigger star by unifying the division than he does by jumping around weight classes to snatch belts from vulnerable/obscure title holders.

Easter Jr. and Linares would be a great start. Plus he’s the A side, so he shouldn’t have any problem making those fights, provided he doesn’t act like a diva and concedes just a little more than he usually does.

I like and very much agree with your entire post but just want to throw this one thing in there. I really like the Garcia's as much as anyone, actually especially Robert. When considering what he says and how he acts, especially in regards to Mikey, you gotta take into consideration that Mikey is his little brother and you can blatantly tell Robert truly loves Mikey as much as any brother could and because of that sometimes acts like too much of a big brother especially in regards to his professional capacity with him. That's one thing I can't bring myself to knock him on, in fact, I admire that about him.

But yea, excellent post and take.

I’m not knocking Robert for his love of Mikey. Like you said, it’s an admirable quality. In my opinion, Robert used to be a lot more modest before Brandon Rios. I also think Robert is wasting energy talking about anyone other than Easter Jr. and Linares.

A unified LW champion is a BIG deal. The reason I feel this way is that most casuals know nothing about Bantamweight, Welterweight, and Cruiserweight. Their knowledge of the boxing world stops at LW, MW, and HWT. A unified LW champion, who happens to be Mexican American, sounds intelligent, carries himself with a self assured humility, AND comes from what seems like a decent family is a lot more marketable than the nomadic path they have Mikey on.
